I love the "Oh but GGG can go up, get beat by Ward and then come down to face Canelo" but Ward simply cannot do the same with Kovalev, he can't go up, get beat and come down to face Golovkin, no Golovkin has to move up before Ward does!

There's so many mental gymnastics to justify this fight which is obviously not a good idea for Golovkin from any standpoint that it's hilarious.

People said it before he came back but Ward is currently not relevant. Yes he was the clear undisputed number 1 and probably still is but fans memories are fickle, it's a case of what have you done lately and it Ward's case that is nothing.

Once almost all roads led to Ward. He had 2 of the major titles, Bute had the other and even he wanted Ward. What did Ward do, he passed allowing his rival Froch to resurrect his career. Then he became inactive, was stripped of a title, allowing other fighters to gain from this and has only defended his WBA super title once in the last 3 years. Now all the roads lead away from Ward, as he is too much risk for very little reward and now there are 2 titles with lesser champions to aim for instead of Ward. Ward now it just another title holder and the least lucrative option.

Even if a fighter comes around that has the desire to prove themselves and fight Ward, their promoter and managers will try and steer them away from him as it makes no financial sense. DeGale pretty much said no to the fight after winning the title, saying Ward didn't want him giving him an excuse to fight someone else and now Jack is calling out other names.

How could he miss the irony of him saying that when it was so glaring? It's like when he said (again when posed the question about his godson moving up to 175) that anyone who walks around at 178-179 is just not a LHW yet. Obviously that's 10-11lbs above the SMW limit. But Golovkin only walks around at about 170 ie. 10lbs above the MW limit. Golovkin even said he was 167 in an interview from earlier on this year and that was a month after he'd fought IIRC and had been taking it easy and wasn't in training. Ward says he walks around at 180 btw (Hunter decided to round it down a pound or two). In fact, he's been saying he walks around at exactly that weight since 2007.

Ward also said he was going to ''pack on 25lbs of muscle'' when he moves up win a strap up at HW. He was planning to put on 25lbs of muscle via natural means? Were they expecting him to grow to that size naturally in his early 30s? lol. Strange how he hasn't been able to pack on a mere 7lbs of it in order to make the move up to LHW yet, which of course he said he was going to do in 2012 because, in his own words ''there will be nothing left for me to achieve at 168 after the Super Six.'' So he was going to win a HW strap coming in about 205lbs? So how much weight would he be giving away to the HW champion he hopes to win it off? A minimum of 20lbs I'd say. Hmmm.. So why are they worried about him being a couple of pounds lighter than Kovalev then?

How much did Dawson and Rodriguez weigh when he whooped them? lol

Yeah, he missed the HW train it seems. We'll have to settle for him to fight at LHW, if Hunter ever approves of that.

Maybe Ward is waiting out on another S6?

Hunter plays victim so much in interviews, it's like the world is out to get him and Ward. Disgusting.

Swedish newpaper reports that Jack will have 4-5 defences in SMW before moving up (I guess that number is based on him wining them all, a loss would probably change the plan (my guess)) to LHW.

Seems like a strange thing to write if it hasn't been said by Jack himself or his team, so probably he'll stay in SMW for a little longer.

And Ward too. They both have a massive chip on their respective shoulders and they're not half as good at disguising it as they think they are either.

    Ward's new Super Six:

    Ward
    Caleb Truax
    Marco Antonio Rubio
    Golovkin
    Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
    Sergio Martinez

With Kelly ''The Ghost of Kelly Pavlik'' Pavlik as a replacement in case one of the others has to pull out

Any other MWs he called out or tried to arrange fights with I'm forgetting?

As much as dawson is shot to pieces it now seems... i got real respect for guys like him. Called out ward, went down a division.. probably not for great money to take on top competition. Not enough guys like that. They all wanna swerve ward because they know its a very tough fight for little money but you gotta earn your respect then you can collect your paydays

Maybe he just doesnt feel like fighting in Wards home with Wards ref and judges, can't really blame him or anyone else for that, after seeing what Ward is allowed in his fights.
