Tougher fight, I agree.. but not a chance in hell bute is (tougher) someone either butchered what was said or jack is just paying respects to his opponent
Many will laugh at that, because obviously we have seen Bute get stung by the Cobra (and rocked numerous times each by Grachev, Pascal & DeGale) while JCC Jr. has never been stopped and is considered to have a ridiculously strong chin (if little else on which to get by at the highest level) but mentally he might be right. La Tombeur is a fighter through and through, no quit in him. Junior on the other hand really doesn't have much fire in his belly and not a quarter the heart of Papi.
I completely forgot about that. Shows how often I think about this clown. Don't think I have since that fight. (or maybe he was rumored to fight DeGale or somebody recently and pulled out for some dumb reason? Meh.. :conf)
Totally understandable. Its kind of hard to care about a guy who in his last outing went life and death with Marco Reyes.:-( Only reason I remember it was because it was Fonfara doing the stopping. Who in spite of how it may seem sometimes, I am a big fan of.
...or who smokes weed more days a week than he trains (DURING camp), or has been KTFO and put on the disabled list by a ceiling fan.
...and yeah, I like Fonfara (has grown on me a lot since his underwhelming performance versus Glen Johnson, when I kinda wrote him off as bland and without much potential) but am not super high on him like you are.
It was a guy I kind of like but don't follow religiously putting a beating on a guy I try my hardest to never think about. :yep It was satisfying in the moment but not something to devote any long-term-memory brain cells to. :!:
I'm not super high on him either, I'm certain he'd get completely destroyed by Kovalev, Gvozdyk, Slava, Bivol, Beterbiev and fairly easily dominated by Ward, but I do like his heart, which is almost all he's got going for him.
I can remember like it was yesterday still, that fall on his back which seemingly at the time lasted like hours, the pathetic whining in the corner leading to a disgraceful quitjob and Chavez Sr with a WTF look on his face. Crowd booing, it was great.
Funnily enough, this almost equally applies, or rather did apply, to Broner vs. Maidana, except I've come to really like Maidana (whereas previously I was kinda lukewarm on him) due to his beat-down of Broner, complete with dry-humping and hair-brushing, and the surprisingly competitive outing in Mayweather I. Those fights raised my esteem and put me squarely in "Maidana fan" territory.
