Cool man. I just can't see much consistency from certain posters fight to fight.

Two 50/50 fights. We had the best two men at 168 fight for supremacy and two top ten competitors at 130 putting themselves out there in the hope of gaining a big fight.

 

I don't understand these comparisons to previous fights. It seems like people are hoping to find some agenda for certain posters.

The reality is every fight should be scored on its own merits.

 

Because it shows that close fights could have only 'gone both ways' when it suits certain fans agendas.

What agenda is that? Why would Ward fans want DeGale to lose, it makes no sense. Ward-Kovalev was much closer than last night, DeGale got beaten up.

If all 4 fighters have an argument for winning their respective fights, Jack surely has the strongest case.

Well it's a pro-US agenda that Jack benefits from do to being a Nevada transplant so close to the last great American fighter.

Now PBF has been consistent in his approach of late as he called clear wins for both Kovalev and Jack - incidentally so did I - but it's a certain section of fans who want to paint one fight as open to interpretation whilst declaring another close fight's decision a robbery. I'd expect people who picked a winner in one to be able to do so in both or those who thought they could go either way in one to feel the same about both of these fights.

And damage sustained can only score you one round. You could get you face smashed in for 5 rounds, losing teeth and having bones shattered but out point the other guy off your jab for seven rounds and get a UD. I'm sure you're more than aware of that so not sure why you brought that up TBH.

 

I don't think the decision was a robbery because neither fighter took an L, but I do think Jack should have been given the nod for sure. I thought Jack was sharper and was blocking alot of Degale's punches on the gloves. He was also countering degale effectively coming in with left hooks and right hands. I thought Degale just got sloppy down the stretch and was getting hit by clean counters and body shots, and it was clear he was getting the worst of the exchanges. I thought I'd clarify that.

 

No arguments with that here. I had Jack by 2 due to him scoring a 10-8 round.
