Khytrov's power isn't as great as people think it is, he threw tonnes of shots at Aleem, who in fairness was rocked a couple of times, but the difference was he was wise once he was hurt he respected the power of Khytrov, fought going backwards and used his feet and waited for the chance to smash the overhand rights in, again Khytrov failed to defend what cost him in the third round and the first round, disappointing that he couldn't see the obvious threat.

 

Lemieux got his lights put out by Rubio then lost a decision to Alcine, before getting a title and a shot at Golovkin. Things will probably go the same way for Khytrov. We haven't heard the last of him.

I had money on Aleem, and I have no idea why Aleem was thought of as some guy who's KO1 fodder. He clearly wasn't a poor fighter before the fight, reserved is the worst criticism you could label on a fighter with his amount of fights. He proved he's a decent fighter tonight. Don't understand why there's always such a backlash on this site when fighters lose. I get being invested, but anger? Right after a FOTY contender? Don't get it.

Yeah guess you're right, still I'm surprised they both got stopped and not outpointed.

 

It's so hard to believe that he had 500 amateur fights and his technique could still be so sloppy. Most guys with 100 amateur fights are just so much better.

 

Aleem has a long way to go. He isn't that good. Khytrov was even worse though. A plodder with no defense, and no chin. Aleem isn't a huge puncher.
