Jack floors the champ again in the 11th in a grueling war. One round to go. Badou is embracing the moment.
And Badou Jack stops him in the 12th. THE NEW ... WBC Cruiserweight Champion! Badou Jack lives to fight another day. Another classic from this old warrior. This guy is awesome.
He was going to win this fight But the house was rigged against Makabu They took away from Badou's victory with the BS commentary and ref work.
He WAS? I missed your prediction where you said Badou was a "sure thing." Badou Jack is a nearly 40-year-old super middleweight. He was supposed to be an easy "name" for the big-punching cruiserweight champ to add to his record in that little 18-foot ring. And the big puncher got floored twice and stopped. The veteran Jack's always-solid technique and accuracy got him the hard-earned win. I was worried he'd get embarrassed. And he fought brilliantly.
I'm not talking about predictions I'm talking after the KD in round 11 he had the fight in the bag...and then he was likely going to stop him in the 12th or take the round heavily...but they ruined it.
He didn't look like they ruined anything ... especially when they announced him the winner. Excellent 12-rounder. That was really good. When it's up on Youtube, I'll post a link here.
Great performance by Jack. A solid all round fighter. I wonder what more he’ll have to do to be considered as a future HOFer.
I think Makabu is at least 40 regardless of his stated age.. he's been too inactive as well , he's only fought once since 2020.. but still a respectable achievement for Jack even though I don't rate Makabu that highly..
