This is the co-main event of the sanctioned professional boxing portion of Sunday night's Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul card on Showtime PPV, and third-billed under the headlining exhibition and Hurd vs. Arias, but above the PPV show opener (Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson making his in-ring debut in a 4-round exhibition). 10 rounds @ light heavyweight. Jack is weaning himself down to LHW after defeating Blake McKernan in a rust-shaking tune-up last November. That was his first taste of victory in 3¼ years (since claiming the WBA title at 175lbs from Nathan Cleverly) and snapped an 0-2-1 slump. He was supposed to face Jean Pascal in a rematch for another chance to regain that belt and to avenge his most recent loss, but the Haitian--Canadian tested positive for banned substances and was removed from the card. In steps Colina (first name Dervis, misspelled as Dervin on BoxRec) on a week's notice as substitute. This is a huge leap up in class on paper for the Venezuelan banger, who never has fought outside South America. His most recognizable name opponent to date is 38 year old Colombian glass canon Dionisio "Mister Nocaut" Miranda Aspriella - more than a decade removed from his most formidable days (taking Peter "Kid Chocolate" Quillin ten in a tough fight and scoring the odd upset over the likes of Sebastien Demers and Lajuan Simon) and riding a losing streak of which the one to Colina was #10. Disturbingly, in spite of Colina being purportedly a puncher and Miranda having 15 of his 19 losses by KO - it not only went the full 8 rounds but Miranda held Colina to a SD. Yikes.. Jack is rated WBO #12, IBF & WBA #11, and WBC #3 at light heavy. Colina is WBA #13 at super middleweight.
