    I agree wayne

he put up a great effort and only fell just short all he needed was a bit of focus in the 10th and the fight was his.

Maybe next time he fights he could get Johnny Lewis in his corner just to calm him that little bit and he would definetly come back a champion

Ganoy v Diaz is off. It may land on another card in the future.

Besides mate, it wasn't sanctioned as an IBF #2 eliminator.

If GBP and HBO want to do a Ganoy/Katsidis rematch, I'm sure Hermie Bohol will take it. lol.

He's very entertaining which can only be good for the sport. You will always get dickheads (usually those with no boxing/contact sport history) happy to give their 'expert' opinions on why someone is 'b-grade' or has been 'exposed'. FFS not everyone can be undefeated their entire career. What ,do you stop supporting your footie team if they have a bad season or suffer a string of losses ? It does **** me the ignorance of some on these forums, some bagged Hatton when he had his first loss, others like to bag Gatti who I personally loved to watch. Vic D had some filthy things said about him after his loss, but not many can doubt that they liked to watch him fight. Maybe it's tall poppy syndrome, someone is out there in arguably the toughest sport on the planet doint their best and some pathetic souls bag them on a keyboard in the safety of their home. Rant off - sorry had to get that off my chest !!

I cannot wait for Katsidis' next fight! Hope he gets right back up on the horse again. Most entertaining Aussie Boxer out there.

He lost at the weekend to a shot fighter, this will become highly apparent very soon

    :huh

    Just watched the fight...

Casa was not shot; he was past his best and faded, sure, but came in in very good form - he was at his very best that night.

Katsidis I like more than Ricky...:bart

A simply past prime Casa would have stopped him within a few rounds.

Depends how past prime he was, doesn't it...

In any case, had Casa not come in in top shape, he would have been out by the 4th...

It was merely a statement that many of todays fighters cannot compete and beat many of the old timers. Why else are these older fighters still hanging around? They see easy pickings with pay.

past his best and faded means shot.

I have the luxury of watching a fair few fights of Casa as a pro and even the amatuers and he is waaaaaaaaaaay past it.

    I differentiate between:

    • before his prime
    • entering his prime
    • in his prime and improving
    • at his peak
    • after his peak
    • in his prime and tapering off
    • past his prime
    • fading
    • fading badly
    • shot
Joppy, for example, was fading/fading badly. Soliman is fading/fading badly. Tarver is shot. Casamayor, I am not sure whether he was, but it looked to me he was fading, not fading badly; he didn't look shot to me at all.

Has anyone heard of the saying

"WITHIN EVERY GREAT FIGHTER THERE IS ONE LAST GREAT FIGHT IN THEM"

Maybe that was Casamayors but far as I see it besides those opening Knockdowns Mike had him backing up landing the bigger shots while Joel was landing the softer punchers but more of them.

Even Mike knows it if he didn't get carried away in the 10th he still had 2 rounds to break him down to that broken body and put him away and if he knew he was ahead on 2 of the cards I am sure he would have done just that.

He will be back you can count me on that.
