Anybody else think this was a bit premature compared to one sided hiding he was handing to mcCollough?
I thinh he was on the way out but the ref could of gave him atleast another 5 or so seconds to see if he was totally unable to defend himself.
Mate the state of oz boxing with these refs and judges is ****ed.. They are bringing our sport down and fast.. How is the sport going to grow and get fans with this bull****..Im flaming from the Hoppa v Cameron decision.
The kid was stung but **** me drunk let it go a little longer. He was undefeated and deserved a chance tp shake it off especially considering he was in front coming to that point of the fight. If it was a bloke with a losing record a case could be made to stop it.
I know boxing aint all that mainstream in oz but ****me where do we get these refs.. They are as useless as a joke without a punchline.
He should of got a count, he was knocked down. If you get hit by a punch and the only thing holding you up is the ropes you are ruled knocked down. I think he would have done well to come back and win but he was winning the fight and he should have been given the chance.
As has been said the referees are a joke. One fight stopped ridiculously early and then Hopoate DQ'd when the ref hadn't even taken a point away as a penalty first. Do they get them from the local centerlink office.
Bahram was pretty much ****ed at the time of the stoppage, And whether he is an undefeated prospect or 5-10 journeyman makes no diffrence. There might have been a count for the knockdown. but its the ref's call and he is in the best position to see the action. The Hoppa fight is his own fault to, I think Bulner did a good job in stopping it. Its not ****ing wrestling its boxing, And he is making a mockery of the sport.
The ropes held Bahram up....the ref should have counted it as a knockdown...shocking premature stoppage. If every fight was stopped when that happens 99% of the great boxing wars over the years wouldnt have happened.
AFF and Kegsy (which completely blows me away; eating 3 bags of M&M's for morning tea might not be a bad thing after all) are right. Bahram was down - the only thing that held him up was the ropes, missing the knockdown was the initial error that culminated in a still premature stoppage. Hint - walking into a ring, looking a goose isn't going to inspire confidence in your decisions and/or ability As for the Hoppa fight, anyway you cut it, it was too soon. Establish control of the contest; if you say you are gunna take a point - take it: don't just say "Oh **** it, let's go home". It's no the am's it's the pro's and as the ref it's up to you to take control, he never had it last night. His job in the following fight was pretty ordinary as well IMO
