First: Tupou was not "the hardest puncher the HW division has seen in a decade".

Second: Jalolov is not at risk of becoming a journeyman

A smooth, unflustered, unhurried performance. Like another poster said, he did not get out of 1st gear until the last moment of the fight.

And...... that's precisely why I've yet to do a thread on Jalolov. The man is about as exciting to watch as a sloth watching paint dry. Of course his footwork is impressive, against hopeless plodders. Of course he controls range well, he has decent power and he's a southpaw with long arms. But he has zero killer instinct, and no real inside game. He's going to be taken apart by a solid pressure fight, with decent defense, good head movement and a jab. It's not going to be hard outworking him.

So right now there is just a gentle desert breeze coming from the Kyzylkum?

He will really have to step it up to move the wind sock that is CST80's mind.

I know, but I just want to see how Jalolov will handle that pressure for at least 3 rounds

I’m on board, he moves well, controls the range nicely and hits hard. He needs to work on his engine and needs more rounds and fights like this. Stick him in with Jerry Forrest next

He did, but he lost to most of them. And he got stopped by quote a few of them.

If he had truly been much of a puncher, I don't think Malik Scott would have gone the distance against him, let alone beaten him.

Repeatedly prevailing over the likes of Hunter Sam isn't much of a record.

Mulowayi had gone the distance against Frank Sanchez over 10 rounds. Frank swept the cards, but he only managed to hurt Jack once (8th round) and never looked like stopping him.

Jalolov hurt Mulowayi repeatedly before stopping (really, really stopping) him.

I agree. It was someone else who flagged him as a huge puncher.

I just liked that he did take on Scott and Jennings when he did. He was also from Tonga and I was friendly with a girl from Tonga around that time.
