He's still only 29 but with his pedigree hopefully they'll step him up in 2024. He's off to a slow start.
Turned pro over 5 years ago and is still relegated to 8 rounders. Looks like he's going to be another Ivan Dychko unfortunately.
You have Jalolov types & then you have this: As a professional Inoue debuted in late 2012 and stopped former Filipino champion Crison Omayao in the 4th round of a scheduled 8 round contest. Whilst 8 round contests aren't unheard of for debutants they are incredibly rare and it was clear evidence of just how confident his team were that he had all the tools to go straight to the top. https://www.asianboxing.info/naoya-inoue.html Levels...
Meaningless and pointless fight. He learns nothing from facing another overmatched opponent, who is coming off 3 back to back losses. While it's still early in his career, he really needs to start stepping the level of opposition soon. Joyce, Hrgovic and Yoka from the previous Olympic cycle had all fought better opposition than Jalolov at this point in their careers.
Is he still having issues with his past promoter? Wasn't that the reason he wasn't featured on top ranks last televised card with Jared Anderson?
