Josh Kelly may be the most overprivileged boxer in the world. Beaten absolutely no one and yet somehow gets a lot of publicity and now a title shot for doing what, exactly? Still, will be satisfying to watch him get obliterated by the champ, who could really do with a publicity boost himself. Kelly's a good sacrificial lamb for that purpose
It's inevitable what will happen Josh Kelly will start off sharp and win the early rounds with his slick skills. But Murtazaliev will get to him at some point, and that will be all she wrote. Murtazaliev is all wrong for him. Kelly is not gonna keep him off him for 12 rounds
Not really. Sure, he got a lot of eyes on him early on, but thats because of his showboating and general marketability. He simply has that it factor. But hes now been a pro for nearly a decade, and this would be his first title shot. And he has hardly ever been showcased on big cards too. Its kinda baffling how Kellys career has played out after that Avanesyan loss. They haven't even bothered feeding him any old, past it big names. Just a few domestic level contenders, and then just low level international guys to pad that WBO ranking. There is never any buzz when Kelly is fighting. Plus, lets not start questioning who deserves a title shot when we are talking about a matchup with Murtazaliev. It´s not like Murtazaliev himself did anything of note to earn his first title fight.
Can't wait to bump this thread after PBK has administered a biblical North East slicking on Bak-Mur's ass
He's hardly terrible. Kelly has bags of talent. His reflexes, athleticism and slick skills are nice to watch. His performance against Troy Williamson in particular was superb. However, he's not the full package to be beating the top fighters in the division.
