that was comfortable for Kelly and I’m far from bias as I cannot stand showboaters.

Like other posters have mentioned, the fight just didn't ignite for me. It was edge of the seat stuff but only because Kelly is vulnerable to Murtz's power. The moving around was effective and you do have to work with what you got but you have to be throwing more punches than what Kelly threw - make em miss n make em pay. I wanted Kelly to throw more combos and less potshots.

I asked myself if that was Ortiz or Boots in there with Murtz, what would happen? And, I have to say that both Boots and Ortiz would've had more domineering performances against Murtz. They definitely would be more explosive fights that'd be more in the pocket and less "running".

 

I thought the same from the first round. Murt definitely looked a couple of weight classes heavier.

 

I think the scissors paper stone thing applies, and he marches enthusiastically to his doom against Murtazaliev. But we just don't know, and I guess that's why it's worth us watching.

 

Is it Matchroom's policy to jump all over their fighters after they win, rather than letting them enjoy the moment with their family and trainers first?

 

Yeah that’s what I’m saying Kelly has always been good I remember when he was about 16 in the amateurs and he was doing it to people. It’s only natural that his man strength would come. I’m not saying he’s not on roids I wouldn’t know but what evidence is there that he is.

 

Tbf to kelly i think he was struggling badly at the weight at the time. He was stuck with a high activity style as well.

 

Get a grip of yourself, you want him to fight toe to toe and give the fight away? It was a close fight but the Russian didn't do enough, and being honest, when Kelly opened up, he looked vulnerable, you better thank your lucky stars Kelly didn't dish out more leather.

Would you please calm down and cut out this petulant hissy-fit? Plenty of people in this RBR scored the fight for Kelly, or felt it was close enough to justify him getting the nod. It was a close fight and the decision is debatable but it's hardly a robbery and hardly a hill worth dying on as an example of a robbery.

I like studying pressure fighters because they're the ones I have the most success emulating in the ring but I respect the craft of boxing and I respect the fighters who can pull off good performances and wins going backwards.

 

Proper salty on here whenever someone they don’t want to win gets the nod!
