First A-Force now Denis Bakhtov have pulled out on Dimitrenko. The man is still feared despite his loss to Chambers.

Universum have rearranged a replacement on 11 days notice in the EBU EE champ, Yaroslav Zavorotny. At 6'5 245lbs he is a lot closer to Sasha's size than Bakhtov was.

The EBU title will be on the line.

If Dimitrenko wins the EBU title he may be in line for a title shot next.

Valuev, Povetkin and now Bakhtov. Russians running from Ukrainians like hell. Bakhtov must have received a telegram from Putin as well:deal

He's a good fighter but I wonder if he has the ability to really up his game to the next level. Chambers schooled his ass pretty thoroughly.

Dimitrenko vs. Valuev in an eliminator for one of the 4 belts. Boy I would love that.

Yes, he needs to prove himself by taking on and beating a decent opponent. It took him him a year to recover from a loss to Chambers, not a good sign really...

You know, unless a young prospect gets seriously damaged in a loss, I'm of the opinion that you should throw them right back in fast against a few nobodies to get their confidence back. I didn't use to feel that way but now I do. Like Sam Peter, throw his ass back in fast with some nobody and let him knock the guy out and feel like a beast again. Don't them get their head out of the game or dwell on the loss. You know?

Shame that. I thought Bakhtov would of shown what Dimitrenko was made out of. EBU is losing its credibility of late sanctioning who ever they want for titles like Sprott and Harrison and now they are giving Zavorotnyy a shot why?

I agree with your point. Looks like Dimitrenko wasted 7-8 months of his career, but I think he's not a champion material anyway... Unless some magic happened in the past year...

I like the thought, but Valuev wont take that fight. He doesnt like his chances against someone like Dimitrenko.

    You ask why?

Well for one thing A-Force Harrison pulled out against Dimitrenko in the initial EBU Title clash. A-Force actually vacated his title rather than face Dimitrenko.

Now it was suppsoed to be Dimitrenko vs Bakhtov for the vacant belt, but Bakhtov pulls out.

That is why we ended up with Dimitrenko vs Zavorotny. Nothing to do with the EBU, everything to do with Dimitrenko.

Yeah, probably not. But things happen. You get a really lucky break sometimes, be nice to be able to take advantage of it. Michael Bentt will knock out Tommy Morrison or something like that and if you're in position, you get to have a real belt attached to your name in history. I think he could be one of those lucky dog types at best.

It doesn't mean they have to sanction anything with dimitrenko. Let him fight Zavoro without the title and get straight on him fighting someone worthy of the challenge. The EBU have taken a few steps back of late imo just sanctioning any challenger. I can see why the fight is being made but why add the title if it doesn't have to be on the line.

Not a bad replacement. Zavorotny just got a win over a Russian prospect.
