Martin Bakole scored first-round technical knockout against durable Ytalo Perea, who was never stopped or knocked down before although he had fought some very serious punchers (Spong, Kownacki, Dawejko). This man's power is REAL: This content is protected
First round kos are very hard to read into. We will see how he performs in proper fights before we rush to judgement eh?
That was an absolute beauty of a left hook. I'm thrilled Bakole is bouncing back as well as he is from the Hunter loss, I had high hopes before he ran into what I predicted would be a stylistic nightmare, as Mike is for most, glad to see he's living up to them.
That shows how good actually Hunter is. Bakoele stopped incredibly durable Mariusz Wach, and he KO'd in 1 another tough opponent who never went down before. And Hunter looked like a small kid when he stood in front of this monster, yet stopped him.
Seemed a bit quick on the stoppage, but I can't blame the ref at all given the last few weeks. A sweet hook nonetheless.
Speaking of Wach though. Hes wearing down and he may be getting stopped now but it's through sheer accumulation and more mercy than anything else. It's like with Chuvalos stoppage losses which came later in his career. That guys chin is a sight to behold.
Yeah Bakole is back on track. He's a real problem opponent for anyone in the British scene. He has a shot against anyone other than a good mover with power to keep him honest. Actually funny enough Hughie Fury would be a far worse matchup for him than say Dillian Whyte.
I’m not convinced yet. Even in the few seconds it lasted bakole looked very open. But he is very powerful indeed. He will need more than just power through against better opponents.
And? No one is saying that Bakole is the next P4P king, or even a champ at heavyweight. He is still a promising prospect. Nothing wrong with taking a loss, especially against someone like Hunter. And that was a BIG step up in class. Hunter is a top 10 contender, or close to it. Bakole meanwhile never even fought anyone decent on the U.K. scene. Bakole is must watch at heavyweight. He isn't a mindless brute, he actually boxes well. But he has his flaws and with that power of his, it makes for great fights. I am excited for him. I think if he can keep improving and learning, he might be able to mix it up with the top dogs.
It´s insane. He clearly gets rocked, proceeds to eat a ton more bombs, yet doesn't go anywhere. Bakole was beating him like a heavybag before the stoppage and Wach only took a few tiny steps back.
