Unless any of the Brit fanbases travel over, I don’t think anyone actually buys tickets to these shows do they? Aren’t they all just given out to VIPs, and then they paper the rest of the crowd with freebies to locals?
lol complete bull****. I assure you everyone in the the place is a boxing fan. But they are just more quiet, it's a different culture.
So feasibly 12-18 months from getting the shot, if it ever came. Look how long the like of Whyte and Hrgovic got kept away from their mandatory shot because of the alphabet bodies' rules, politics and commercials? Wish Bakole nothing but the best of luck but there's nothing to say he'd have got a title shot in the near future unless the Saudis took a shine to him.
Whyte went the WBC route and turned down final elimintors in other organisations to be kept waiting. Not sure what that has to do with IBF. Hrgovic not sure what happened with him. Some sources say the bout vs Zhang was final eliminator while others don't. Hrgovic pulled out months before due to death of father, so things may have changed during that time. when Hrgovic became mandatory he lost to Dubois.
So I went with the Bakole win. Ive loved watching his career and seeing him get to this point. It's now or never. Like you have said, Billy has always talked a big game when it comes to Bakole, tonight is the night the talking stops and it's time to prove it. Takes my accumulator up to 95/1, my tenner returns 961!!! Not going to happen though mate, but makes the fights that bit more exciting you know.
Best of luck with it. I like your picks. It's tempted me to do the same thing. Personally enjoy Zhang and Bakole so would like to see them win. I'd put my house on Bakole beating Parker if he'd had a training camp but he looked shagged in those interviews and 310+ pounds without the clothes on doesn't fill me with confidence. I think Zhang is too heavy as well. I can't understand why the bloke can't get down to 275 or thereabouts. I love the heavyweights but respect all the boxers who are in such phenomenal shape down the divisions and the likes of Joshua and Dubois who are always in great condition.
It's a disgrace mate, whole thing is a shame really. Fighters should be punished for being so fat and out of shape, not gifted opportunities.
Well there's his punishment. All eyes on him and he gets KO'd in the second. Was static the whole first round and got (in my opinion) embarrassingly knocked out in the second. Bakole was the bogeyman. Knocking everyone out in sparring. This is what we get. The only saving grace is he has the perfect excuse. Can't wait to see the rebuild, I'm not giving up on Bakole. He clearly was there 100% for the money. We will see what he is like in his next fight.
