Is it conceivable that the immortal Floyd could batter Bakole to the canvas? Or visa versa?

    Martin Bakole is history’s best.

I don’t know if Floyd can handle someone so huge and durable. Bakole also has a solid shot selection, accuracy and a devastating uppercut which Floyd will be vulnerable to.

252 lb Jared Anderson appeared to throw the entire kitchen sink at Bakole and barely phased him, maybe Patterson could do what he did against Bonavena and use his feet against the much slower Bakole but I can’t see him doing that for the entire fight.

It just wouldn’t look like a fair fight imo size/strength wise, even his fight against Anderson looked unfair size/strength wise, and he’s 250+lbs, Floyd Patterson, while decent technically, couldn’t fight that well going backwards, so standing in the middle of the ring or trying to make a man who is like 90lbs heavier go backwards, is a recipe for disaster, Patterson wouldn’t be able to hurt him either.

So you predict a Bakole win over Patterson, correct?

If you think Patterson could beat Buddy Baer or Jess Willard or Primo Carnera, why not Bakole?

I wouldn’t be surprised if Bakole beat Liston, nevermind Patterson

I would dispute that he didn't fight well while retreating. He didn't like to. It wasn't his instinct to fight defensively. But if you watch him against Chuvalo you'll see that he could win fights that way.

People without much thought will usually just pick based on era If they’re modern enough.

He wasn’t anything special going backwards and also had a passive defence, when he dips into mid range Bakole would eventually nail him with one of them uppercuts, also if Patterson did opt to move, Bakole is decent at range too, he could just keep him on the end of the jab, Patterson isn’t like Holyfield going backwards, Holyfield would light Bakole up, but Patterson doesn’t have them same tools.

Would pick Patterson, but the size difference plus Martin's power plus Patterson's chin vs big punchers gives me pause. If Patterson had a Chuvalo like chin, I would pick him to win despite the size difference.
