How important do y'all think this is?

Two of the biggest punchers of today have excellent balance and center of gravity while moving and attacking.

Other not so big punchers (Timothy Bradley) keep their movement effective with balance, but have it go to **** when they lose their center of gravity.

    Thoughts?

    Extremely important, maybe even paramount.

balance affects everything in a fight. it allows you the most power from any particular position when punching, it allows movement in any direction when on the defensive, it allows maximum leverage when wrestling in the clinches... it just makes you a better fighter.

I agree wholeheartedly. Who do y'all think have very good balance and COG in boxing currently?

I know Algeri is an ESPN fighter, but dude has very very good balance and a strong COG. He also keeps his kinetic chain closed. I was surprised he got washed as bad as he did vs Pac

When you lose your balance, most often, you are done. This applies to all boxers, even those who don't rely heavily on movement but especially those who do.

Case in point: Cory Spinks, Miguel Acosta, Ivan Calderon. All were top-shelf as long as they had their legs. Once those went, they performed steep nosedives.

floyd, ggg, m. garcia, lomachenko, those are just some of the fighters ive made mental note of their balance.
algeri misjudged pacs ability to close distance.

Actually, Kovalev loses his balance quite often, while Golovkin never does.

I mean I don't agree, but 2 of KKKov's last 4 opponents are far better than anyone lil g has faced,
