Didn't he call out De La Hoya and Mosley before fighting Baldomir?

Good one, now go watch floyd's dancing with the stars DVD again.

I'll stick to boxers who fight.

Floyd made twice as much money and got twice as much exposure fighting Arturo Gatti, one of the most popular fighters ever, than he would have fight Kostya Tszyu. Floyd is fighting Shane Mosley in less than 2 weeks. Oscar De La Hoya would have never gone near Floyd when Oscar was prime. Nothing to gain, everything to lose situation for The Golden Boy. Felix Trinidad was a full blown 160 when Floyd was at 140. That fight never made any sense. Same with Winky. Winky was fighting 7-20 pounds heavier than Floyd. Not to mention, Wright just isn't a BIG fight for anybody. Ike Quartey wouldn't wanna **** with Floyd. Another fight that never made any sense. Fernando Vargas? LMFAO, C'mon son! You don't think your trying a little hard with that one? Being that a prime Vargas was a HUGE 154 while Floyd was at 135? Miguel Cotto is promoted by Bob Arum. Arum is a coward who won't do business with Floyd. Antonio Margarito disgraced the sport and how people can still speak of him as a legit opponent for anybody is beyond me. Vernon Forrest was a full blown 154 when Floyd was at 135-140. A Paul Williams fight is a very possible possibility, LOL. I mean, you are trying to fault Floyd for not fighting guys that A) didn't make any sense businesswise or B) outweighed him by 10-20 pounds. You can go to ANY fighter in history and put together a list of fighters they "could of, should of but, didn't" fight. Furthermore, if you really knew your ****, you would have Joel Casamayor and Acelino Freitas on that list not Fernando Vargas and Vernon Forrest. Schooled. ;)

It's not just who you fight, it's when you fight them as well! You forget Shane skipped 140 to jump to 147 from 135. You also forget Tito was right there at 147 for years and then went up to 54 to take out David Reid and Vargas. Quartey was at 147. Shane jumped up to fight the bigger guys for cash! Floyd stayed down at 35 and 40 where he was CLEARLY the best fighter in the division. And at that time he had Hell with Castillo. To think he could go up and beat these guys at 147 at anytime in his career is questionable. So I don't necessarily hold that against him, but once Shane got beat he had his opportunity to go up yet he waited. I can assure you that Floyd could've fought at 47 in 2000-01. At that time Shane, Quartey, Winky, Vargas, Tsyzu, were all there. He didn't go up because he didn't want to lose his 0! That's it. And again, I don't blame him for that but physically he could've fought at that weight.

Now fast forward to 2003-09 and this is where it really sets in that the guy didn't want the difficult fights. Hatton and De La Hoya were money fights and Zab was already exposed. Every other fight was pretty much crap. He got buzzed against Corley and that was pretty much that. I initially watched that fight and was excited to see the way he responded. But if you watch Floyd after that ask yourself did he ever sit on his punches again like that. I don't think he wanted to sit on his punches and hence he didn't take fights with Cotto, Margarito, Mosley, et al. I don't blame him for the Pacquaio fight because he agreed to most of the demands and wanted it. But the Cotto, Margarito, and Mosley fights are a big problem for me.

Yeah, mainly DLH, although calling out doesn't really mean much anyway, but the Mayweather-DLH fight was basically being hyped up for awhile. It was first mentioned in 2003 when the 135 lb. Mayweather said he wanted to fight Oscar at 154, but didn't get looked upon seriously until Floyd went to 147. After DLH beat Mayorga in May 2006, there was all sort of talk about Mayweather-DLH (Jim Lampley mentioned Floyd in the audience all happy when DLH was kicking Mayorga's ass). There was also talk of Mayweather-Mosley, especially after Mosley beat Vargas a second time in July 2006. Mosley kept talking about taking a vacation and going to the dentist. I took that as "Golden Boy Promotions wants Oscar to have the fight". Richard Schaefer claims now that he offered Shane the fight first and Shane told Oscar to fight Floyd instead, but I don't believe him.

Mayweather fought Baldomir, and that extra time simply added the extra build-up for a DLH fight. Mayweather and De La Hoya signed shortly after that.

Mayweather will be in the boxing HOF, b/c the man can fight. I like Mayweather when he fights, kind of didnt like some of his choice at WW except the Baldomir fight. But the character he puts on in front of the camera, i absolutly dislike the guy, he will never be as great as SUGAR RAY ROBINSON, or ALI ext...

Dude Mosley and Mayweather are the same size guys. It's obvious that Floyd physically didn't want to fight the bigger guys. He was physically bigger than most of his opponents, save for Corrales up until the De La Hoya fight. That's the problem. He was brought up under the tutelage of Arum and continued to save his 0 at all cost. Compare that to De La Hoya. Hoya was the cash cow but ask yourself who he had on his resume at the age of 33? He fought some guys past their prime as all young studs do but look who he fought! Quartey, Tito, Shane, Vargas, all certified bangers! I'm sorry but Hatton, Marquez, Judah, and Gatti doesn't add up. That's pretty damn weak!

Same as Mayweather. Whats your point? Both Mayweather and Mosley were chasing Oscar. Mosley got him first. Mayweather tried to make a fight wtih Mosley 10 years ago but Mosley priced himself out. Why would Floyd fight Tito over Mosley and Oscar?
Sorry that doesnt make any sense and has no basis in history. Mayweather tried to make a fight with Mosley and Oscar when he was at 135 and 140.
He tried to get Shane and Oscar. Why would he go after lesser names like Quartey, Winky and Vargas? :nut AS for Zoo, Mayweather wanted to fight zoo back at 140, but zoo was a showtime fighter. Name the last time a showtime fighter fought an HBO fighter.
No, you just dont know what the hell you are talking about.

Physically Oscar could have fought at 160. What the **** does that mean? :rofl

EVeryone and their momma wanted to see Mayweather fight Oscar and Hatton. Mayweather fought Oscar in his 5th weight class, in comparison that would be like Mosley fighting at middleweight.

You think Margarito who lost to Daniel Santos and Paul Williams was seen as a bigger threat then Oscar? :rofl

Mayweather called out Mosley 10 years ago and again in 06. Mosley declined.

Cotto and Margarito never happened because Floyd wouldnt have gotten to fight Oscar who was seen as more of a threat and a bigger money proposition, Arum wanted rights over Mayweathers next 2 fights, and only agreed to get Mayweather 7 mill against Cotto and like 6 against Hatton. Hw much did Floyd end up making against Oscar and Hatton.

Cotto and Margarito are Bob Arum fighters, thats why those fights didnt happen.
