From what I can tell, the three main coaches and nutrionists, who brought the BALCO scandal to us, are now working in boxing. Victor Conte is an "advisor" to guys such as Donaire, and Andre Ward. Trevor Graham works in the Wild Card Gym, under Freddie Roach Remi Korchemny is Donaire's fitness coach. We all know Victor Conte. He invented many of the designer drugs now in sports. In 2003, under a plea bargain, he admitted supplying steroids to Olympic athletes. In 2007, he admitted he was again supplying convicted drug cheat Dwain Chambers (who was banned for 2 years because of BALCO) supplements through his new company. Now that company appears to be advising boxers. Trevor Graham was caught at the same time as Conte. After several failures by his athletes, one of his coaches, Angel Heredia, told authorities he was involved in BALCO. Conte himself backed this up. In 2008 Travis Tygar gave Graham a life ban from all US Olympic sports. Remi Korchemny's story is largely similar to Graham's. He was indicted in BALCO after Conte gave him up. And was given a 12 month suspended sentence, and banned for life by Travis Tygar from all US olympic sports coaching. All 3 guys are now in boxing? Isn't this just a nice example, of how dodgy the sport is on the subject. These guys are banned from coaching almost every sport. But they're with top guys in boxing
they're not banned they are still able to do what they do. so far conte is a nutritionist for donaire andre ward and eddie chambers and after last saturday i bet you the list will get bigger.
Conte has a life ban from all WADA sports. He's only allowed to work with boxers, as NSBC controls the sport, and it's not signed up to any international regulator
That's my point. The only reason Conte, and Graham, and Korchemny, can work with boxers, is because boxing refuses to sign up to any international regulator. It's corrupt basically
Graham also has a life ban from all WADA sports. Korchemny decided to voluntarily retire from WADA sports, before he was banned
I'll also quote Conte, from last year. "The vast majority of boxers will be on steroids. The system almost demands it"
if you want to talk about ped use and boxing you have to talk about testing. It's grossly insufficient. There is no random out of competition testing done. You can cycle off 5 weeks prior and still have all the benefits then pass your "joke" scheduled prebout tests.
The courts should've placed an injuction on Conte and his associates barring from coming into contact, direct and inderect, with others in boxing. Heck, Panama Al lewis was banned for life, cause of the Luis Resto illegal gloves. Margarito and his then trainer-Javier Capetillo were banned from boxing for a year, for trying to "level out the playing field" against an illegally EPO"juiced-up" Shane Mosley. Then Conte and his buddies shouldve been banned along time ago. You should write a letter to the Federal Judge that has handled many of the BALCO cases like Mosley's steroid case, and Barry Bonds's steroid case This content is protected , and tell her that you want Conte banned from boxing for life, because Judges always read letters sent to them from the public and do respond if they feel there is irreperable harm to others. She could make a ruling, even though the case is dismissed, if she feels there are risks to others. her address is: US District Judge Susan Illston Phillip Burton Federal Building & United States Courthouse San Francisco Courthouse, Courtroom 10 -19th Floor 450 Golden Gate Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94102 This content is protected
And you have the biggest boxer in the world refusing better testing, when he has a chance to do something good for boxing. Thios and the Balco connection are definitely not looking good for boxing.
