Should be a good scrap. Hear fig is looking good in camp. Maybe fig can pull an upset here. What yall think
Figueroa is decent and as much as I like Nick Ball, it's good to see him fighting someone who's been fighting at featherweight. Goodman, Doheny and Rios were all brought up from lower weight classes.
Much prefer this fight to what’s just been announced as the 4th DAZN PPV of the year. It’s a proper trade fight and a true test for Ball.
What is the PPV fight you are referring to, I’ve had a look online and can’t see an announcement. Know the Thurman vs Fundora fight is likely on Prime and don’t believe Chisora is PPV. Unless I’m missing something obvious.. Theres the Ring card just gone, Garcia vs Barrios, what are 3 and 4?
I think Ball could lose this, or he could get a lucky break on the cards. Brandon is good odds at 7/2. Nick has spent much of the build-up overlooking Brandon and talking about an Inoue fight; we've seen this playbook play out dozens of times. As many people have pointed out already, Figueroa will be the first top-5 career featherweight he's actually fought, except potentially Vargas, but Vargas was inactive and flicking between feather and super feather. Brandon didn't look great against Gonzalez, admittedly, but he knows this could be the last chance saloon at the top, and his high-volume style and height will pose problems for Ball. It wouldn't surprise me to see Ball get outworked over the 12. I'd be very impressed if he gets a resounding win here.
Fig is focussed and looks good in training. Ball gonna have to be at his best to pull this off. I never been impressed with ball. Always thought he was food for shu shu. Absolutely why that fight was never made. I spoke to shu shu in vegas after one of his last fights and said ball was no 1 on his radar. This is a 50 50 scrap. Odds are ridiculous.
Isn’t the rescheduled Itauma fight the 3rd, and as someone else mentioned, Chisora vs Deontay is the 4th PPV show of the year?
Ball is good at what he does but was outboxed for the first 4 rounds or so VS Vargas if memory serves, and wasn't at his best against Goodman who came to win in his last fight. Got Figueroa a slight favourite going into this
Obviously I want Ball to win, I'm a massive fan of his. However with them odds I will put a few quid on Figueroa for the upset.
