Balls to the wall fights where by a fighter proved he was ready for the next step.

I believe every fighter has one of these fights on the way up, its the type of fight which co-signs the fighters ability to show their metal, that their not going to capitulate in a rough tough fight, that they have some substance behind their skills if someone can negate them.

You might say Haye failed his first test, Thompson, but proved he was capable when he beat Fragomeni.

Khan- Limond would probably be another good example, cause Amir, whilst getting dropped, overcome adversity and showed a lot of heart to come through that fight, end up a winner.

    Give some other examples.:thumbsup

The biggest one for me was Lennox Lewis v Razor Ruddock. I think people were waiting for that fight before they would commit to calling Lewis a real force in the heavyweight division.

And didnt he step over that hurdle with style.

Hatton vs Magee, get knocked down in the first, in trouble in the second, got his boxing together and won a UD.

Dont anybody mention Manny in a reply as this is a next step fight not a next ATG fight.

Look what happened after that. Floyds career after that was and is a blur. He avoided some bigtime fights, and keeps on doing it till this day.

Typical from someone who backs up Floyd. As shameful as floyd has been lately, you would think his fans would make up with it with some sort of class and integrity. But you guys are the same. Trying to play that villain roll doesn't fit boxing fans.

    Get a life brother.

getting battered by a journeyman club fighter who had you out on your feet proved that Juana was ready for the next step??:huh

If anything, Juana should count his lucky stars that there wasn't a 13th round.

It's not suppose the be a fight against a top guy. When you are in trouble you are in trouble. He showed courage and survived.

Wlad Klitschko has barely lost a round since the first Peter fight.
