Joe Frazier rematching Foreman was ballsey,, and stupid. I recall everyone saying he'll get killed again.
Have you read his autobiography? It includes discussions of municipal bonds as investments, why as a landlord it's worth lowering the rent a bit to rent to the government, how expensive it is to build a commercial parking garage, what led to him learning he really wanted to own the rights to the film for his fights, etc.

Holmes sounds pretty intelligent for a guy who never finished middle school.
Yes I have, and I found that fascinating. Larry built his mansion home in his town of Easton, Pennsylvania, when he was champ. He still lives in it today — paid for it outright so no mortgage, no home payment. Still married to the same woman for all these years. Built the biggest office building in Easton and, as you noted, rented it to the government as the de facto federal building — post office rented the entire first floor and then other agencies started renting space. I think he said all the leases are like for 50 years … yeah, you make a little less per month but as he noted, the check always comes on time and you never have an empty space because someone goes out of business and you never have to evict someone for non-payment or go looking for them when it’s time to collect rent. (Kept one office upstairs for himself, rented out the rest). When he came back to fight, he said (and a ton of people don’t grasp this) he learned the difference between having money (which he had) and having income — when you have money and you spend some of it, it’s gone; when you have income and you spend some of it, you have more coming in to replace it. He had his eye on some properties and decided to pay for them by going back to the ring. You’ll notice Larry never had an entourage. Not a bunch of hangers-on. I think he had a brother who he kept on the payroll to handle some things because he knew he could trust him. Says his only extravagance is every year he trades in his car for a new one (like a Lincoln or a Cadillac) but with the trade-in value after one year it’s only a few thousand dollars more for a new one. If only every boxer handled their money like Holmes did and set themselves up for life after boxing like he did.
Hector’s chin should come up more often than it does. And say what you will, but when it came time to catch a whupping like against Chavez or Trinidad, Hector never looked for a soft spot or an easy way out. He took it. Can’t say that about a lot of guys.
Considering there are a lot of people who thought Marquez went 3-1 2-2 etc I think Pac may have personally felt the requirement.
Absolutely right, mike . Leonard steamed in against Duran in the first fight, totally playing to his strengths. He learnt his lesson hard but he learned.
Dave Zyglewicz (and Ron Stander) throwing with abandon at a prime Joe Frazier? Anyone signing to fight prime Pipino Cuevas in 77-79?
Jesse Ferguson standing and fighting against boxers that he otherwise shouldn't have. Tyson, Bowe, Bruno... He had some of the best heart out of anybody at heavyweight- It was always easy to root for him against better opposition.
