He's probably underestimating Chavez jr. which is a big mistake because. If Chavez gives it his all in the gym there is absolutely no reason why he can't beat Canelo.

Just look at the size different alone, Jr. is just a bigger man naturally.

You can say this is a Good big guy/Great little guy fight.

Neither fighter fights off the back foot.

The only mistake Canelo made was not including VADA testing...

In contrast to Chavez, yes. Canelo is supposed to be the much more skilled, much more polished, much more accomplished fighter, whereas Jr. is seen as a spoiled rich kid, underachiever, undisciplined.

But that probably would have killed the fight because Chavez is working w/ Memo.

Canelo's surely more skilled and the better overall fighter. The question for me is what will Canelo do if Chavez eats his best punches like candy and keeps coming? That size, that chin, that Mexican pride that has seen Chavez walk through bombs before could become major factors, especially in the later rounds. I'm still picking Canelo by decision, but I know that a motivated Chavez could provide some real challenges for him. Very interesting fight if Junior shows up in good form.

You remind me of that idiot GGGunbeatable who makes threads about him possibly losing before his fights to hype up his opponents. There are easily 15 more dangerous opponents for Canelo from 154 to 168 than Chavez jr @ 164.5.

I appreciate how Canelo is always willing to make concessions.

Draining a mediocre Chavez is a ballsy move?
What is Golovkin fighting a 175 lb #2 rated middleweight contender then?

Canelo should KO Chavez jr. He's big but nothing special.

Do you guys think the multi-million dollar bet between them is fake ? Another silly markenting idea ?
Chavez apparently bet his entire purse lol

    Like they say in Vegas
    Go big or go home

Agreed. Both better come physically and mentally 100%. Canelo cant be thinking of future fights, and Chavez can't miss training.

Nothing special? Yeah, he inherited that left look, but nothing much else after that, got gifted with size in comparison to his father. But Chavez would beat every single opponent on Golovkin's resume. So he's something special.

He could probably beat them just because of size difference alone. CJCjr is a SMW
    I'm not arguing that

Chavez weighed in at 168 for his last fight no problem. He was walking around 180 a couple weeks ago before Nacho got him.

Agreed! If Jr. comes into the fight looking to win and did what he needed to do in training he has a good shot at the upset. Canelo needs to be able to get Jrs. respect early, if he doesn't it will prove to be a long night for him. Very interesting fight. Some intangibles to consider.
