Over at the Scene, Balzay is out of the fight with a back injury so Magee can now fight for the vacant title and pick a top 15 ranked operator as they won the purse bids. Good luck to Brian, guy deserves a bit of luck it's been a long career.
So he'll have beaten Barboza then some no mark to become a 'world champion'? If Ward then moves up he becomes a 'legit' champion. Really hope he fights someone good. Not sure he deserves enough luck to be truly given a belt.
Yep his career never really took off the way it could of, but he's a good fringe world class operator on his day which isn't a bad thing. This i suppose will be a bit like Bernard Dunne when he won his 'world title'. Not really the real deal but the fans won't care if Magee lifts the title. TBH if his fights anything likes Dunne vs Cordoba i don't think anyone would care .
Great fight IMO. Dunno if Magee will take that risk though but if he did fair play to him cos many would look for the easiest of fights.
