How is that fight going to play out? What kind of opponent is Acosta? Rios is one of my favorite fighters and I am excited to see this fight. Does Acosta pose a threat or will he get steamrolled?
Acosta is the current Ring Mag #1 Lightweight contender. I'd have him beneath Soto and possibly Katsidis, but yes, a win over Acosta would be Rios' best. My prediction is a Rios SD. Really glad Showtime picked up a this solid fight...
Acosta is a dangerous guy, who has been under estimated alot. If Rios under estimates Acosta, he's in for a rough night. Either way, this is a 50/50 matchup imo. I'm not sure who to pick in this one...
Brandon never under estimates anyone and he knows this is his chance to climb the ladder and he sees Acosta as a real step up.
Not saying he will, he just comes of as extremely cocky, which is good for some fighters, and hurts others. But his cockiness is the reason I mentioned the possibility of Rios' under estimating Acosta. But as you said, if Rios sees, and plans for the danger that Acosta brings, he will more than likely be able to pull out a win. But I know Acosta has faced his fair share of undefeated guys that were supposed to beat him, and didn't. That's what makes this very interesting for me.
