Not a good performance but did what he had to do to get the win. He will learn and get better.

Loma is cut of a different cloth.Stop the comparison.Same as fighters trying to be like Floyd or next Pac. There's only one Loma, Floyd or Pac. This kid Bam! Hmmm, never impressed me. He shows me glimpses but that's all. Inoue is far more impressive. But his resume is not great. Only missing link to solidify the ATG claims. Beating old washed up boxers is what they both have in common. Inoue is the way superior athlete, indeed.

Nonito was rejuvenated. 2 highlight reel KOs before their first fight and 2 more highlight reel KOs before their second fight. Clear number 2 in the division and still possessing lethal power.

Payano, McDonnell, Rodriguez, Taguchi, Hernandez, and Moloney were all world class fighters and in their prime.

Literally the only old guys he fought were Narvaez and Nonito.

Yes there is only one Loma and there will only ever be one Loma, but he's a big fan of the great Lomchenko and he's studied him a lot and is heavily influenced by his style. He recognizes genius when he sees and I salute him for that.

Loma was an absolute magician at his age. Considerably younger in fact. Here he is winning Olympic gold in scintillating fashion at just 20 y/o, stopping the big punching quality runner up with terrifying ease in the final within a round

But Bam-Rod is a talented kid and if you show Loma love you will receive love from this Loma lover. But he abandoned his slickness the other night and that's not acceptable. I still haven't forgiven Tyson Fury for abandoning his. Bam-Rod needs to study Loma more and stay away from Sunny ''The Slickness'' Edwards and Inoue he'll have a fine career.

Agreed, i never cared about the Talk regarding him, but lets wait & see before full judgement,

He is bigger & younger that's his advantages going into these fights over all these guys, let's see when he actually faces someone on a balance level, had it not been i think we know what would be the answers to our questions.

He was very lucky to fight that Old Inactive version of Sor Rungvisai that's for sure.

I see a dash of Loma in his game. But like Broner. Imitating but can never replicate the authentic article. There's no shame in that. It's just boxers like Loma are special, ones in a generation talent. But this kid. Nah, I don't see it. Maybe Im wrong. But ya know what loma would do to Rung and Cuadras. Oh, boy. Matrix style. They would quit and get totally out classed. Eye balls spinning, head dizzy. Can't comprehend what is happening. That's what loma would do to you. Crazy!

This is very true. Loma is a generational talent and only Loma can do Loma. Broner can't do Floyd and Bam-Rod can't do Loma. But to be inspired by greatness is a great thing. The magician was once the young child who marveled at the magic tricks of the magician.

Still overrated imo and not P4P yet. Has mostly feasted on shot to bits corpses of former stars and rehydrates massively in all his fights. Kid’s got talent and might turn out to be something special but, right now, I don’t see it and I don’t see why he’s being praised through the roof for beating a bunch of geriatrics. The Sunny win is good, but it wasn’t the “dominant masterclass” some say it was. Sunny won rounds and was essentially fighting on even terms with Bam, even cracked him a couple times. Bam is still overrated.

Estrada was 34. That’s not a shot to bit corpse. Give him his due. I’d like to see him fight Nakatani at 118, as Nakatani is a big puncher.

I dont see any problem with this post. You can be overrated in 2022 and a proved successful prospect in 2024 with a victory to Estrada. Not incompatible.

If any ******ed necromancer was looking for a thread to resurrect he failed choosing the right one.

34 is ancient for a flyweight and he’s been out of the ring for over a year and a half, on top of looking largely unremarkable for the past 5 years, struggling deeply with Argi Cortes, losing twice to an ageing Chocolatito, and going life and death with Cuadras twice. The last time Estrada really looked like Estrada was against Beamon imo. Estrada looked like someone who couldn’t pull the trigger anymore, whose legs were gone, and whose timing had gone against Bam. He was very far removed from his prime and looked to be in the worst condition certainly I’ve ever seen him in. Junto would mess that kid up imo.

Bam is one of the top-5 fighters in the world, no question. But his age makes him an interesting case. We love clamoring over a young guy and kind of extrapolating his resume for more than it's worth since we basically fantasize about all the great things he could do with such a long future ahead of him... assuming he has a long future.

This sport is a Mfer. I could waste a bunch more time talking about the things he does right but right now I see a dumb kid getting face tattoos, knocking up some ugly girl, and frankly many young champions these days fool themselves into thinking they've "made it" because they have some paper straps around their waist.

Can he keep up the motivation? Will the Garcia gym be willing to continue to cater their entire organization around him? In regards to both instances, we've seen in boxing history that neither is guaranteed. This isn't a problem specific to Bam, just a trend I see now that I'm a much older and pessimistic boxing fan.
