Thank you back. I concur. The worst are those all too common couch refs. that have never in their lives applied themselves athletically. :good
I get what you're saying. its the nature of watching sport though. If I'm watching a fight , a hockey match , a football game whatever I frequently use terms like that. It doesn't actually mean you think that but relative to who they are competing against or previous performances its closer. Y'know what I mean ?
i wouldve respected your thread until you admitted that you do the same **** that youre here crying about too. btw, Calzaghe and Delahoya today are bums, cowards and scared! :good
I completely understand. Nobody is perfect but at least I am honest, and I rarely use the term. I trully respect these guys, and what they do for my viewing pleasure. No matter how much I dislike them.
You undoubtledy have a point and when these terms are used in "cold blood" as it where I also sometimes feel a bit aggreived but people get carried away sometimes , I know have :hey
Why are you so mad and who said anything about race? Mayweather is a much better boxer than your boy Margarito. Just because he does not lead with his face into punches does not make him any less of a fighter. Cotto is going to school him in the rematch too.
This is pure foolishness...as if being a professional boxer somehow exempts you from all fear when entering a boxing ring...:nut In your eyes a soldier can never be afraid of war either, right. Afterall, he's a professional. ...and a poilceman has no fear, with regard to enforcing the law either, right...??? Boxing is a dangerous profession, one in which it takes courage to be a participant. If that key ingredient of courage is missing, far be it from any fan, to censor the fact. Boxers get hurt in the ring. They lose their vision...and rarely they die. To suggest boxers are never afraid of these legitimate possibilities,no matter how slim the likelihood, is nothing more than one posters desire for a PC boxing site. ...not to mention the fear of actually losing the match, which can bring with it immediate financial doom for a boxer. I say anyone who wishes to censor a message board, would be better off making their own.
Damn your good. I agree with you. I just hate the **** talkers that make it very clear they dont know **** about boxing. They come on here just to talk ****.
YES YES YES!! Magnificent thread, it ****ing sickens me when armchair warriors do this. The abuse and derision coming Miguel Cotto's way on these pages when he had been beaten to an absolute pulp was vile. Well done for starting this thread. The only fighters who can be criticized for courage is guys who are scared even to get in the ring with others and avoid the dangerous fights.
I completely understand the op's point of view, but I don't think it's a valid one. As Suge said, would you some how suggest that every soldier in the army is free of fear and prepared for war? I served for 5 years and change and I can tell you from experience that nothing could be further from the truth. And you wouldn't have to have served like I did to know that. The fact of the matter is that there are a VAST amount of things that one doesn't have to experience to comment on. I don't have to have a family member have AIDS to know that it's a horrible experience. I don't have break a bone in a my body to know that that would hurt like hell either. The same applies to sports. I don't have to have a perfect jumpshot to KNOW when I see a bad one. I don't have to be able to throw a perfect left hook when I see one that's thrown sloppily. And I certainly don't have to step in the ring to come to the conclusion that a fighter fights as if he's scared, ducks the best opposition, or just isn't very good compared to his peers.
