How much do people know about the issue of Bandage "stacking"? Does it really harden the wraps a lot? Is it enough of a difference to make make the effect of his punches harder in previous performances? According to Kermans trainer here it is something he has always done for all other fights. Great footage here of Beefy politely but firmly addressing the issue, great performance by metcalf too (3) "That is ILLEGAL!"- Liam Smith forces Kerman Lejarraga to rewrap hands - YouTube
I’m not sure how much of a difference it would make but there must be a reason it’s illegal? His hands look ****ed though…
Yeh mate but i read another comment elsewhere that it also hardens the bandages on your hands and thats why its illegal in some places. Just wondered if it would have helped kermans power/damage inflicted in other fights.
The most important thing is that the tape isn't over or below the knuckles. I'm not sure how stacking above the knuckles would influence any punching but it certainly is illegal. Like u said above, it is seen as hardening the bandages but there's no limit to how much tape can be put on top of the bandage so I'm not sure on how much effect a layer of tape would influence things but it's illegal so there is something in it
