Two different class of fighters, no doubt. I would just like to see the warrior go out on his shield. Joe landed two or three punches out of that entire barrage and Manfredo did not appear to be all that affected by any of them.
the overzealous ref jumped the gun, yes. but that fight should not have been made in the first place, at least a dozen guys were more deserving of that title shot, so i shed no tears for it being cut short.
Banks has the fundamentals, but there is lots of room for improvement, and if there is no serious progression from his current game he'll never be anything. I think we are watching Manfredo peak before our eyes. I know he's young, I just don't see alot of his holes being patched at this stage. At best, he could become the next Vinny Paz.
Absolutely was. My point is, if it were a more important fight (or one that should have been sanctioned in the first place), it would be easier to be outraged by it.
Manfredo got jobbed in the 'stoppage' with Calzaghe, but he still doesn't have enuff pop to be anything more than a fringe contender at 168...Allan Green would destroy him...
Green is superior to Manfredo in every department except chin. Even Peter has a puncher's chance against him.
Why would Manfredo want to fight Green who is actually an light heavyweight? Green has to lose 15 or 20 pounds to fight at super middle. That is why the kids liver enzymes are all screwed up. Too much weight loss too many times.
Looks like Manfredo has regressed since losing Freddy Roach as a trainer and going back to his father. I get the impression they don't work all that well together.
Manfredo is a slightly better boxer than Green, so that's only other advantage i could give to Manfredo...
