I remember watching it on TV, I thought it was a strange fight but it was years ago & I wasn't paying too much attention to it. My memories foggy on this fight . I had the feeling banks threw the fight but I want to re watch it. I know it was a stinker too but still Can anyone help me find it?? Thanks.
Reminds me of Tomasz Adamek vs Chris Arreola, i never got to watch it until earlier this year when I finally found it on YouTube.
I remember this one but not as much as I remember Mitchell vs arreola speaking of arreola, who’s Kownacki fighting next?
Banks rocks Mitchell early then holds back for the remainder of the match due to a preconceived agreement.
Most Showtime fights are. Not sure why they're so stingy with them, it's not like they're showing them on the channel, all they're doing is gathering dust. HBO and Showtime should just throw every match they've ever aired up on Youtube. It's not like they're going to be releasing some monster DVD box set of all of 1000's of matches they've aired anyway. That would be better than them all being forgotten and cast into the dustbin of history.
I remember the reaction on here about it was sad because everyone wanted Mitchell to lose so badly. But Banks definitely didn't put in a "spirited effort."
Speaking of hard to find fights: Guerrero-Katsidis. It was on the undercard of Maidana-Morales, I think. It was a massive PPV flop and I never found a HD quality copy of the fight. Maybe its up somewhere now, but for many years it was impossible to find a good copy.
Here's what happened in hazy form. Early on Banks was turtled up looking to lure Mitchell into the same counter shot as the first fight. He actually did land something decent, but Mitchell then boxed very, very safe not really committing. For round after round Banks kept waiting for the counter, kept trying to bait Mitchell who had clearly worked the game out pretty well by then. Banks never changed approach and lost every round for not throwing anything. I don't think he threw the fight, I think he just had no ability to adapt or even think to. Then Wlad and GGG hired him for a trainer.
"what are you lookin' at?? What are you looking at????" This content is protected Good find thank you man!! They have less boxing censorship in the east it looks like. Chinese dub lol.
