el NINO David Rodgriguez has recently been pushing to get it on with Banks and Mitchell, amongst MANY others.
Sadly his promoter was only able to get Polley. He tried Rahman, tried Arreola, tried Quezada, Banks, Mitchell, and Firtha.

Can't blame those guys for refusing the fight, since the $$$ he brings to the table is insignificant, especially for Banks on the Vitali undercard, but now that his fight has been cancelled by the WBC, because they KNOW Polley is a no hoper, why can't Mitchell return his call and fight Rodriguez instead.

I'm almost positive Rodriguez would gladly take the fight, even on short notice, same with Banks, and from what I hear, el NINO was will to go to POland for less than 10K.

When are these ranked HW's gonna give this man his shot. Do he have to go straight to a Klitschko decapitation when he finally gets someone inside the top 50?

Cmon Banks, Cmon Mitchell, cmon Arreola, cmon Rahman. Answer the mans calls. He's a 35(33)-0-0 tomato can that any of you could easily starch inside a round. Take the fight.

I guess Polley was denied by the WBC and his fight is off. Kinda crazy though that they could not find a fill in by Oct. 15th.

What is Daverod doing in Texas? Plenty of guys there to get good fights on with. Grab Eugene Hill or Steve Collins, even Scott Rossum. Travel costs are low and a Big Texas match should sell some seats.

He should try stepping to Manuel Quezada, that fight would sell in Texas too with all the Mexican fans. And Quezada is a tough test to see what he has.

What about Fast Fres Oquendo? Get Rodriguez on a Grey Hound headed for Chicago. Banks isn't going to go to ChiTown to have that fight. Or offer the man to come to Texas. That would be a great latino battle there and by far the biggest fight of Daverod's career.

Rich Power out of Detroit is another guy who could be offered. He is raw and not great but his only loss is a UD to Tyson Fury. Any KO of him would look great and be great fodder for trying to taunt Fury into a fight. I'd like to see Welliver take this route as well of smashing Power and then taunting Fury into a Commonwealth match. But the opportunity is open for anyone to grab him. He's a big guy too, so even though he is raw, he is strong and good experience. At 6-5 and in shape, 14-1, he'd be approved for any WBC title fight.

I think I will go scout out his October 6th match at Motor City Casino for Team Welliver. I haven't been there yet and my sisters bf is a black jack dealer there now. I'd love to see the Casino get rolling on boxing cards though. I have been extremely dissapointed in the boxing action since these casinos were built. Nowhere near enough fights happening.

Quezada was called I'm fairly sure. Don't know about Oquendo, but it would make for an excellent test fight for El NINO.

Didn't think of that Power kid, might write to Spagnola and remind him of that. Also about Fres. A KO of either of those guys and the top fighters will have to start taking him seriously.

There is another guy out of Detroit up his alley, or Welliver's too.

Damon McCreary....14-0 but a blown up Super Middle Weight.

The Polleys, Browns, and other guys like that are not going to do it. These guys need either flashy records like these types with undefeated or 1 loss credentials, or they need guys with some older school name value like a Rahman, Tua, Briggs, or even a Danny Williams type. Owen Beck is not the pinnacle nor is Rob Calloway though they are decent wins.

IMO both Welliver and DaveRod would handle Cannon Briggs pretty easily. Or Rahman for that matter, but to get those fights is not easy. Briggs could probably be had easier but Rahman is somehow thinking he will get another title shot soon. It's gonna take big money to get 1 of them in the ring. Welliver has a shot because of his Chinese backers, not so sure about DaveRod though. I find it very interesting that he is not a massive draw at the gates. He has so many Mexican fight fans in his region yet he has nowhere near the support Arreola has in Cali. What he needs is exposure. Perhaps a showdown with Don King's Eric Molina would be a potential turning point. Both are from Texas, both have the surnames to draw viewers, both have WBC titles. The winner of that fight on TV would probably make a great name for themselves and be a good draw from then on.
