This is pretty much a disaster for Maccarinelli.

I assume this means no vacant WBO belt shot then? So that's out the window. He's also going to end up with a last-minute opponent that's likely to be poor, so little credit for Enzo no matter how much he thumps him. And Enzo has been focussing like crazy on this fight, and that's out the window too.

Yeah, crap end to a crap year for Macca it would seem.

I'm sure Herbie would be up for stepping in, but I can't imagine Warren would dare. Sticking Enzo in with an aging but still quick and heavy handed Hide would seem lunacy, especially at such short notice.

 

Hide and Warren have a bit of history - more chance of Leeds keeping a clean sheet than this happening.

 

Hide is in a better position than Enzo right now, he doesnt need Macca.

 

Bobby Gunn is back to winning ways and must be in line for an eliminator for the belt he once challenged for.

bbc have it. so its official. no way can the WBO sanction for the number 3 rated fighter to fight a bum for the vacant title.

rob calloway (ranked 15 by WBO) and Grigory Drozd (ranked 8 by WBO) are scheduled to fight eachother that night, warren will have to poach one of the WBO strap cant be on the line.

 

The WBO can do anything it wants - it usually does

 

Maybe Enzo can do a few muscle poses in the ring to show off his new tit-less physique?
