The Bantamweight Divisions and its inhabitants are kind of stuck in no man's land, most of them are too small to have a real shot at making it at Featherweight to Lightweight and too big to make it as Flyweights. But that doesn't keep them from being uninteresting and dull like Lightweight usually is they're both incredibly vibrant and stacked divisions with some true Pound 4 Pound talents in their ranks. Bantam is the Indonesian word for poultry, more specifically a small variety of Chickens from the city of Bantam and since they're males they'd be Roosters....Bantam Roosters. Get it Straws, Flys, Chickens, Feathers although Feathers should come before Chickens, but whatever. So if you want to talk about the Bantamweight Divisions feel free to say or post anything you want here at....

Scott Quigg is a 5'7 25 year old Super Bantamweight 31-29-2 22 KO's record. Eddie Hearn's Bury born WBA Super Bantamweight Champion is on a collision course with Carl Frampton, and is one of the many potential opponents waiting to face El Chacal. He's exciting but not as skilled as Carl, but may (but doubtful) hit harder. So check him out he may be on US television soon.:bbb:bbb:bbb:bbb

Shinsuke Yamanaka is a 5'7.5 31 year old Southpaw Bantamweight with a 24-0-2 17 KO's record. He was born in Shinga Prefecture, Konan and currently fighting out of Tokyo, Japan. Very technically proficient Southpaw fighter who has some truly awesome KO's, and yet another unheralded very exciting fighter coming from the Land of the Rising Sun. He the best fighter at Bantamweight bar none, and judging by how average Tomoki Kameda looked in his last outing, I'm not sure if he'll pose much of a threat to The God Of Left. He looks to be on the verge of outgrowing the Bantamweight Division and if he moves up he could pose a serious threat to El Chacal. He fought Darchinyan and UD'd him, but on a more interesting note he KO'd Guevara in 9, where as LSC could only UD him. I know he's a Southpaw and everything but God of Left is a terrible nickname, he needs a new one. Check Him Out he's pretty Badass.:toney:toney:toney:toney

Jamie McDonnell is a 5'10 29 year old Bantamweight with a 26-2-1 12 KO's. Born and fighting out of Hatfield, Doncaster, Yorkshire, United Kingdom. Jamie is the first World Champion in the history of Doncaster and is now a two time World Champion after beating the top Asian Prospect in Haymon's stable Tomoki Kameda. I'm still not sure why Jamie was considered such a massive underdog going into the fight he hasn't lost since 2007 and the two losses were damn close borderline draws, and since then he's went on to rack up some pretty impressive wins taking the 0 of Stuart Hall, and beating Stephane Jamoye by MD who at the time only had one SD loss, ironically to Kameda. He's an exciting volume punching fighter who while isn't the greatest BW by any stretch, he has heart, grit, determination and a strong will. He's persistent as hell and will try his best to grind his opponents down and thankfully his KO's have been picking up as of late, in fact he was on the verge of getting Tomoki out of there in the 12th. So Check Out Jamie, he's proved to the world he's not domestic level and deserves more respect.:toney:toney:toney:toney

Tomoki Kameda is a 5'8 23 year old Bantam/Super Bantamweight with a 31-0 19 KO's record. The Ultimate Weapon of the Kameda's is obviously a member of the Osakan born Kameda Dynasty, he fights and trains out of Mexico hence the nickname. He is an exciting action fighter who recently made his Showtime debut as a lead in to the Canelo-Lara PPV, he'll be on the undercard of an upcoming Showtime card on Nov 1 facing Alejandro Hernandez, Showtime is high on him so maybe you should be too, He's pretty good not great.:bbb:bbb:bbb:bbb

Shohei Omori is a 5'8 22 year old Bantamweight with a 13-0 9 KO's record. Born and fighting out of Kyoto, Kyoto, Japan. This 22 year old kid has the goods, he's fast has great fundamentals and is a very good all around fighter, his footwork is impeccable, he has a very good savage straight left, and left hook, for someone so young he's very adept at controlling the distance, good head movement, great sharp and accurate punch placement and fast hands he's a super talent. His style reminds me of another Japanese fighter The Super Featherweight God Of Left Takashi Miura. He recently beautifully dispatched Kentaro Masuda with the greatest of ease, far quicker than Ryosuke Iwasa. On top of all of these things he's a handsome kid with a pretty cool look, so he'll be easy to market if he lives up to his seemingly obvious potential. Maybe we have a potential future challenger to El Chacal's crown? So Check Out The Left Handed Kyoto Assassin Shohei Omori. :toney:toney:toney:toney

Randy Caballero is a 24 year old 5'6 Super Bantamweight with a 21-0 13 KO's record. He was born in Indio and now lives in Coachella, Randy is a 9 time Champion with a 167-10 record as an amateur. He decided to forego the 2012 Olympics after missing out on the 2008 Games because of his age. So check out one of Golden Boy's top US Prospects he takes a big step up next with his match against Stuart Hall.:bbb:bbb:bbb:bbb

Shingo Wake is a 5'8 27 year old Super Bantamweight with a 17-4 2 Draws 10 KO's record. Born in Okayama City, Okayama, Japan and fighting out of Tokyo, Japan. Don't let the 4 losses on his record fool you, Wake should not be underestimate as a legit threat to anyone in the division. While he does have those losses the first 2 were razor thin, one a MD and the other a 1 point victory for the opponent in 4 rounders. The other two were a little more problematic but they were 8 rounders, but he did turn pro at the very young age of 19, and he's went through some growing pains that hopefully he's finally gotten past. All of you need to sit up and take notice of Shingo Wake because its looking very likely that he will be the next opponent for Senor Rigondeaux in Japan possibly sometime in the Summer. And he is not one to be taken lightly like many seemed to do with Amagasa, who as you all know by now dropped Rigo in their fight. Well Wake is far more skilled than Amagasa and in my estimation a slightly bigger puncher. Add to that his awkward fighting which relies heavily on speed and he's a southpaw, his style is vaguely reminiscent or Maravilla Martinez which can get away with because he's fairly fast. So is he capable of cracking Rigo's glassy jaw, Check Him Out and make your Assessment. :toney:toney:toney:toney

Genesis Llasos Servania is a 23 year old 5'6.5 Super Bantamweight with a 25-0 11 KO's record. Born in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental, Philippines and fighting out of Cebu City. Servania isn't the biggest puncher in the world although he is improving in that department, luckily he has the skills to make up for it. Maybe not Rigo level but fundamentally sound, he's a good combination puncher is good at slipping punches, and has the ability to easily adjust to his opponents. So Check Out what could possibly be a future source of immense Pinoy Pride. The Filipino Sugar Genesis Servania.:bbb:bbb:bbb:bbb

Albert Herogalem Pagara is a 5'6 20 year old Super Bantamweight with a 22-0 15 KO's record. Born in Maasin City, Southern Leyte, Philippines and fighting out of Cebu City. As a teenager Prince Albert won 10 Gold Medals in The Palarong Pambansa the National Games of The Phillipines, his older brother Jason is also a boxer. He made his debut at the age of 17 and at only 20 he is showing immense potential and fights with a wisdom well beyond his young age, he's fast, has good fairly quick combos and is more defensively responsible than most his age. He along with Servania and Sonsona are ushering in a new era for Filipino boxing, to take over when Manny retires, will they be as great... No probably not, but they are definitely worth keeping an eye on. So Take a Look at the New Source of Pinoy Pride in The Prince of The Phillipines.:bbb:bbb:bbb:bbb

Abdul Barry Awad aka Kid Galahad is a 5'6.5 24 year old Super Bantamweight with a 18-0 9 KO's record. The Yemeni Qatari born Galahad relocated to Yorkshire at the age of 3 and took his moniker from, yes the Elvis Presley movie of the same title, because when I think of Elvis the first thing that comes to mind is a SBW version of Amir Khan, odd name choice but it works. Galahad loves to bring the pressure and is very fun to watch, keep an eye on him, because if Quigg and Frampton don't fight, they may fight him.:bbb:bbb:bbb:bbb

Hairon Socarras is a 5'6 21 year old Super Bantamweight with a 14-0 10 KO's record. Born in Marianao, Cuba and currently fighting out of where else Miami, Florida. He's a talented young prospect who didn't have as long of an amateur career in Cuba as many of his fellow countrymen since he arrived in the States at the age of 11, but even then he'd fought 75 of his 180 Amateur matches in Cuba where he was Provincial Champion at the age of 10 and 11. In the United States, he was a Florida State Champion 4 times, 2 time Silver Gloves Champion, and Golden Gloves Champion. He's currently being trained by Jorge Rubio in Miami. Nonito Donaire needs no introduction, and he shouldn't be written off quite yet, Donaire is a tiny little guy and really had no business moving up, especially not against a borderline Welterweight monster like Walters, yet even then he shook Nicholas bad at the end of the second round and had the bell not rang what might have happened, remains a mystery. But now that Nonito has moved back down to his rightful weight class he still has a chance to get a few more straps because even a largely diminished Donaire may still have the goods to take out a few up and comers.:toney:toney:toney:toney

Jesus Gabriel Magdaleno is a 5'4 22 year old Super Bantamweight with a 20-0 15 KO's record. He's the younger brother of Diego Magdaleno another failed Top Rank prospect, Bob seems to be very high on Jessie since he's been on a few PPV undercard's, we haven't had a lot to be exited about in the lower division for awhile, maybe he's one to get our hopes up for. This Mexican from Las Vegas might be a future Champion. He may be our Diamond from the Desert.:bbb:bbb:bbb:bbb

    Francisco Martinez Sanchez
5'5 29 year old from Alicante, Comunidad Valenciana, Spain.
While he's lost 5 times and once by KO to Frampton (which is nothing to be ashamed of), Kiko is a tough nut to crack for many fighters and still poses a risk to many in the division, he's a hell of a pressure fighter with wins over Jhonathan Romero who was undefeated at the time and Mathebula who Donaire couldn't even stop he's another old dog that shouldn't be written off quite yet, he has been before and comes right back to shake things up once again.
