1. Eder Jofre 2. Manuel Ortiz 3. Ruben Olivares 4. Pete Herman 5. Panama Al Brown 6. Terry McGovern 7. Carlos Zarate 8. George Dixon 9. Fighting Harada 10. Bud Taylor Special mentions to Lionel Rose, Memphis Pal Moore, Kid Williams, Sixto Escobar and Joe Lynch.
Eder Jofre Manuel Ortiz Ruben Olivares Carlos Zarate Panama Al Brown Fighting Harada Orlando Canizales Rafael Marquez Miguel Lora Hozumi Hasegawa Again, this is made tough with the survey's format being restricted to the original 8 divisions, with guys like Tapia, Gomez and Penalosa spending their best years at in-between weights and thus slipping through the cracks. You want to throw some of these guys a bone and find a spot to sneak them in, as it'd be a shame to not have them appear due to a technicality at all due to a technicality on a series of surveys determining the best when they are among the best, but in all honesty it just can't be done when you're talking about a top ten list with all the talent the sport has seen across its history.
1. Panama Al Brown 2. Manny Ortiz 3. Eder Jofre 4. Carlos Zarate 5. Ruben Olivares 6. George Dixon 7. Pete Herman 8. Orlando Canizales 9. Lionel Rose 10. Fighting Harada
Point taken. When we are done with the original eight and a separate P4P list, I might consider doing the other weight classes. I will have to see how motivated I am.

Interesting that of all the lists so far, the only two long serving champions to retire as undefeated World champions - Jimmy Barry and Jimmy Carruthers have failed to make a single list! I cant understand the rationalisation behind those omissions.

The rationalisation is pretty simple: Jimmy Barry was a Paperweight, and Jimmy Carruthers didn't have nearly a long enough reign against convincing opposition.
