    The first outing of Olivares.

In Martinez he has a slippery awkward counterpuncher who switch hits and counters off the back foot. Olivares struggled with the counterpunching of Castillo, could Martinez pull the trick?

    15 x 3 minute rounds.

I'll get off first here as well.

I think Martinez can pose some problems with his back foot boxing, if he gets the chance. However, I don't see a prime Olivares giving him the chance, with his quick feet and aggression I can see him closing the distance on Martinez constantly and completely out-gunning him in some superb exchanges.

I think by the mid-rounds Martinez will have been worn down enough to be taken out, although Martinez could bang, I just dont see him landing enough to stop the surge of Olivares.

Initially Martinez does well, getting the better of some exchanges. Olivares begins to wear on Rudolfo, before " Rockabye Ruben " delivers the patedened left hook, The end comes swft for Martinez, a game challenger to the last. Olivares 7th round TKO.

Martinez has a lot of the tools you need to keep Olivares off you. I agree that he does really well here for a while.

I dont think he has durability issues but you don't have to have issues as such to get into deep water against Olivares. I think he obviously can be hurt and put away, and though I dont think he has a weak chin, he will need more in that department to see the final bell against RB.

His defence seems to get a little ragged as the fight wears on and his movement slows down a bit..I see this getting hastened by Olivares' body attack and once Rodolfo starts getting tagged consistently it aint going on to much longer.

Olivares is only slightly ahead when he puts Martinez out for the count in the 10th or 11th.

Martinez and Herrera were so neck and neck during their trilogy. The only real diference between those two was Herrara was a little faster and a little stronger, but being a converted southpaw, Martinez had that little bit of versatility in his arsenal. Regardless, a great matchup, but the peak Olivares in this tourney would slowly grind down Martinez and I'm leaning towards that 10th round stoppage.

    Good fight !
The best Olivares had a vicious body attack, great combinations and he could box well and utilize his footwork......smart fighter too.......
I like Martinez, he could win some early rounds, but later Rúben had better stamina and will control the fight (gradually), I can see a late stoppage.....

    Olivares by TKO late rounds......

Martinez can make it interesting in the early going but Olivares will break him down and stop him.

I say Olivares stops him late. He has the offensive arsenal to offset Martinez's trickiness, and will stunt his rhythm quicker than Zarate did.
