This content is protected Unbeaten middleweight Darren Barker believes Carl Froch is a future world super-middleweight champion and could beat Mikkel Kessler. The Barnet boxer, who challenges Australian Ben Crampton for the Commonwealth crown on a Hennessy Sports show at the York Hall on November 14th, sparred with Kessler in Copenhagen last month. WBA and WBC super-middleweight champion Kessler used Barker as his sparring partner ahead of the fight Saturday’s fight with Welshman Joe Calzaghe, the WBO champion. Barker has also sparred with Froch, who he rates as better than Kessler. “I’ve sparred with them both and they are both very good,” said Darren. “Carl will definitely go all the way, judging on what Kessler is like. “Carl hits harder than him and is a very smart boxer. He is good enough to become undisputed champion in a very hot division. “At the top level there is a very fine level between winning and losing - and Carl has definitely got what it takes. He has got what it takes to beat Kessler - and anyone else in the division. "It was great sparring with Kessler, who is a nice guy. It gave me confidence ahead of my Commonwealth Title fight and I'm optimistic for the future
This the the same guy that had to quite sparring with Kessler after 3 rounds????:huh I think it sounds like a guy trying to talk himself up.... if he's going for the commonwealth title it would make more sense to say the way he does cause Froch might be more known to the commonwealth fighters.
Well I just wondered if he were the guy.....cause there was actually a live coverage from the sparring when he suddenly quite kind of ruined the tv-station coverage
 Froch made some sensible points for once, except when he said that Joe is going up to LHW to duck him!:verysad Joe will not fight Froch. If he fights anyone at SMW, it's going to be Bute...not Froch.
I am all for Bute v. Froch! If he is good enough to beat Bute, props to him! I will start respecting him much more! Still won't change the fact that he has fought nobodies whilst calling Joe and everyone else who was good out! Let's see whom he fights after Reid, whom he should beat without too many problems. Come on Carl, step up to the plate mate! And don't forget, those who are hungry eat; they don't talk!
We don't know whether Froch is the real deal or not. But let us give him the benefit of the doubt for now. Hennessy have so far prefered to TALK about the big fights whilst hyping Froch as he was fighting nobodies. It is time for them to stop talking and start getting down to it! Froch is no spring chicken and will not have more than another 3-4 years at the top. And so far he has done nothing! 2008 is a defining year for Carl. He will have to grab whatever chances are out there with both hands and make a run for the top. It's now or never. We are all fed up with all the rubbish that comes out of his mouth. It's time to deliver.
I have little doubt Froch would lose 13 rounds of the scheduled 12. That is the sort of affair you should expect.
