He is likely to have some permanent loss in hearing. Is Barker the type that likes to follow his trainer´s advice during a fight?

Not all perforated ear drums are the same, like any injury the extent of the damage can vary quite a bit.

Basically what I'm saying is anyone who is pointing out other boxers who've recieved similar injuries is a tool, since it's very possible Barkers injury could be, and looks like it's more severe.

That's clearly not what I said. Are you a ****** by chance?

Barker went down on a an injury others have made it through the entire fight. What's there to misinterpret? If you disagree, fine, I don't give **** what a nobody on the internet says, but refrain from putting words in my mouth.

    Fair enough

You obviously have zero reading comprehension. I'm sorry for your loss.

Oh it's not what you said?

You were clearly being disrespectful and said exactly what I said you did. What words did I put in your mouth? Are you possibly a ******? Or do you have that short of a memory?

Not to pull a Manny Steward, but that's exactly what I figured it was when I saw the punch and his reaction.

As a matter of fact, I didn't label Barker as a bad fighter (he obviously performed better than anyone could have anticipated including me) but I do slag him off for going down on a perforated eardrum and PLEASE don't harass me with crap like "suffer a perforated eardrum yourself and see how you react yadayada". I'm not being paid hundreds of thousands of dollars for perforating my eardrum and if I'm not mistaken others have made it through a fight with that exact injury as well so how is my point invalid?
Granted, if he really suffered a perf. eardrum his knockout cannot be considered a dive as the pain was real, but he should have continued had he wanted to prove his toughness.

So I didn't put words in your mouth at all, thanks for agreeing there.

And as far as your point being invalid, I'm not sure what your point is? That other boxers have done it?

Sure they have, and that's a testament to them but to say "I think Darren Barker's a ***** because he fought Sergio Martinez and went down when he busted him eardrum" is an absolutely ignorant view and belongs on sherdog with the mma fans and "just bleed" crowd.

So if that was your point, you didn't say it was, you merely said Barker was a *****.

You don't think he proved any toughness in going 11 rounds when Paul Williams and Dzinziruk made it a combined 10? There's just so many things wrong with your statements in this thread I can't fathom it.

i think the reason for Barker not getting up is being somewhat confused by some here. He didnt choose not to get up due to the pain(which i agree is understandable in itself). He tried to get to his feet but stumbled. This is due to the fact that such injuries seriously impair ones balance and affect equilibrium. The other examples of fighters whom fought on despite these injuries arent necessarily valid here as the injuries may not have been as serious, as someone has already pointed out, and because trying to get to your feet having been on your back with your equilibrium momentarily disturbed is likely much more difficult than simply remaining on ones feet.

Yeah because every ****s reacts the same right ?, you do know that last year darren got jumped on by a gang right ? because he tried to save a guy they were beating up, no one else was brave enough to do anything but darren helped and got battered and had his head kicked and his teeth smashed to bits
