rd2 - Perez is offering nothing, just letting off a few wild swings that are causing no problems. Yafai's showing a nice lead left hook which Perez can't avoid. The Spaniard is tough, he's taking some shots and you can see Kal getting a bit reckless (maybe even frustrated) throwing wider hooks in an attempt to get rid of his opponent who survives a round. Perez actually landed the odd punc that round.

 

Rd 3 - Perez is a fair bit smaller than Yafai so him taking these punches is all the more impressive. The test now for Yafai is how he approaches this. Atm he's continuing with his two fisted attack, little thought of keeping things tidy , and throwing every punch with mean intentions. He is landing a vast array of punches to body and head but Perez doesn't go down! Ref steps in after a particular barrage. Good stoppage, the lad was nothing more than a punching bag by that stage, towel came in just as the ref stpped in.

Great to see a prospect body punch like that.

Yafai "not too pleased" with the performance. Thought he got caught with a few punches but at least he got some rounds in. Says next year will be a big year for him and he wants to take on the best bantams in teh country. Admits he needs to improve his defence but he's still a novice and has time on his hands.

Eddie says he'll fight on Jan 19th in Brum for the English title...same night as Brook/Alexander. Eddie predicts he'll be world champ by the age of 25 (Yafai's currently 23). Says he has no plan of holding him back
