I cant help but think Barker just isnt put together well enough genetically to be a fighter

He just never seems to be fit, he looks flimsy and his physique has no clear muscle definition, i know thats not always an indication of a fighters physical condition but lack of muscle does show a lack of physical attributes sometimes

The problem is having the hip operation it does leave you open to niggling injuries elsewhere. Your gait is affected, you run and the muscles are worked differently. Its a shame he had bad hips, but this is not wholly unexpected. He will get back fine, just bad timing.

    Agreed.

He is just like Macklin. They both think they're MUCH better than what they actually are.

It was that bad that he couldn't do any roadwork at all.

The point some people are missing is that when you are talking about pro athletes in any sport once you have long term issues with any injury it will lead to others.

Good point about his gait the body will make natural adjustments to compensate but that will lead to comlications down the road.

Sadly for Barker it leads to ring rust and at championship level any slight issue with stamina, preparation you will be found out.Martinez was too good for him but can only see a big money domestic fight as a possible next fight whenhe returns. He needs warm up fights but he just can't stay injury free.:thumbsup
