Barker/Macklin for the new "WBC" Bronze belt

    ive heard this is a goer and should be made "official" next week.Dunno what the bronze belt is ,but it must be after the silver belt

    this is in addtiion the European belt

    What really? This is getting really disapointing now.

    I would prefer good fighters to just fight and forget about useless belts. Hopefully the winner gets a huge bump up the rankings from the back of the belt.

    Best of luck to Barker but I can only see Macklin winning this.

    The ibf seem to be the only governing body left trying to maintain at least a bit of credibility,they don't do interim titles nor super champs.

    I'd wager that this is true.

    With the amount of fighters vacating titles to pursue better fights or simply refusing to pay sanctioning fees (Vazquez, Mayweather etc) they have to come up with something else to earn their crust.

    Barker and Macklin should just refuse to pay the fees.

    The Pacquiao vs Cotto fight intros were class, the bloke from the WBC holding that silly diamond belt pulled a funny face when Buffer didn't mention it.... 100% owned :lol:

    Sounds like a wind up. But is becoming increasingly clear that the ABCs are starting to become irrelevant, and these ridiculous titles are doing little to change that.

    Let's see. The WBC has their world champion Sergio Martinez, interim champion Zbik, silver champion Chavez jr., and now this new bronze title. And that's not even including the international and intercontinental champions.

    Alba, I think you are at it my son.

    A. Its for the EBU title - why do they need another trinket on top of that.

    B. The EBU is affiliate with the WBA so I doubt they would be happy with a sop like that to the WBC.

    Its actually the WBC whos affiliated with the EBU and not the WBA who have their own european belt called the EBA. Avtandil Khurtsidze is the current EBA middle weight champ hence his current and bogus high rankings with the WBA.
