Barker, Macklin, Lee...Who has the best chance at winning a world championship?

Argghhh i get fed up of seeing this " Who Beat who and who fought who stuff" at the end of the day I think its better too look at each fighters skills and style and then try to asses what could happen and why.
If i we go by who beat who then your saying that Hopkins should have lost to Pavlik cos pavlik beat taylor, but no thats not the case boxing isnt so black and white.

 

There's nothing special about being competitive with Zbik (who's a Euro level boxer with a padded record and will be outclassed by Chavez Jr) and Oral (who's about as good as Paul Smith)

There's a reason Vera is ranked 21st and Spada is ranked 55th.

Brian Vera BEAT the man who beat Vernon Forrest and drew with Shane Mosley. He beat a now genuine contender in Andy Lee (you can say what you want about Lee ****ing up, Vera got the job done and should be given credit). He also beat Demers who is as proven as Oral and Spada.
And Craig McEwan in turn should be held in higher regard than Spada for the fact that he beat Vera.

Spada being competitive with Zbik is indicative of how poor Zbik is than how good Spada is. Zbik's world title means **** all, he beat Spada to get it. Sergio Mora beat a genuine champion with wins over future hall of famer, Shane Mosley, to acquire his belt.

 

I never said it wasn't a decent win, just that it doesn't compare with Lee beating another young up and comer in McEwan.

In fairness Rob, you are the one talking bollox, trying to elevate Spada and saying this was a better win.

Barker was very impressive Rob on saturday but come on Spada was absouloute rubbish

 

I agree i expected Spada to be better then that, he is a decent euro lvel fighter that is it.

 

Have you ever seen Oral fight ??? Seen him fight Sipos not too long back on Eurosport and he was gifted a descion against the journeyman Sipos , he is absouloute shite and I would favour Smith too beat him tbh.

 

But it sure was a good way for barker toget his career back on track after 12 months out the ring, spada started getting desperate using rough house crap.

Errrrrrrrrrrrrrr, i think it was macklin pressuring moore was it not ??? He burned out trying to take jamie out, and could'nt, that was for the british title fella. So macklin has been out cold at british level .....yes ? Moore was always going to win if you watch the fight closely, tucked up and kept his eye on macklin. The reason macklin chose them tactics was because he knew he could'nt outbox moore( his words)

 

Macklin sure has the heart the grit and determination that i admire, sadly just lacks the technique, but i`ll be supporting him when he fights Sturm.

Two things to consider here - Thread title is "who has the best chance of winning a world title" and the opening question in the thread is something along the lines of "who has the best chance of beating a world class opponent"....

They're two very different questions - I voted for Macklin, primarily as I've generally rated him as better than Barker and Lee and because he's in a world title fight and to be honest I am a fan too. But the fact is he has a tough fight in Germany and one of the other two could land an "easier" world title fight which they might win.
