I want them to square of for 3 belts, but I suspect they will both try for the World title first.

Will they both go via the German route, or should one get it on with Pavlik?

I would like to see Barker now move onto European level then see what level he is really at. Maybe early 2011 for a world title shot but at the moment just step up to a higher level. He has ability just now giving him the education he needs before going up against likes of Sturm and Sylvester.

Barker needs far better fights than he is getting if he wants to step up to world title fights in 2010. I think 2011 is more realistic for him if he can keep up the good work.

Macklin is maybe 1 or 2 wins away from a title fight but he has stiff tests lined up for him.

I maybe wrong but wasn't Macklins Euro fight with Asikainen an eliminator for a shot at Sylvester?

If so it may set up an all British world title fight if he wins.

I think it was one of those pretend eliminators that promoters promise to be real but the fighter still does not get a shot for over a year.

Macklin is having a laugh now. Barker is unified. It's a better fight then his last fight.

    Really mate?

You don't think grabbing the European was better than waiting around for Hennessy to make the fight?

say what you want about hennessey, but he does get his fighters genuine world title shots (i.e. wbc) even though it takes him a few years.

if barker keeps winning he will get him a world title shot, but probably not until about 2012

He might get Barker a title shot but will he be able to negotiate that fight in this country for Barker...:think

Will he be able to get Barker a shot at the title where the TV execs will want to show the fight...:think

Barker needs to lift the bar with opponents in 2010 before he can consider going for a World Title unless it is an alphabet strap... Barker is much better than that...

I hope that Barker can be coached and directed in the right direction and then we can see an amazing domestic showdown between Barker and Macklin for some decent belt where they both get a decent payday...:good

Barker is going the same route as Witter and Froch and I like that. Sometimes I wish it was done a little faster.

Witter fought Corley for the WBC strap in the UK. Froch fought Pascal for the WBC strap in the UK. Hennessey isn't perfect but he does ok.

I think he'll get there. Why rush him at the moment why the t.v. screwed.
A year from now they'll get a much bigger payday. Establish the credibility for Barker in 2010 and then go for the jugular in 2011.

I think Macklin will get a big fight in 2010. Pavlik is a possibilty.

Macklin would be an embarassment against Pavlik - another Lockett situation.
