After a mad week out of the ring nice to have some actual boxing even though the Sky card isn't that great. Sky go on air at 8pm and this is the running order: Danny Connor v Chris Evangelou, 10 rounds Lee Purdy v Cosme Rivera, 12 rounds George Groves v Dario Balmaceda, 10 rounds Darren Barker v Simone Rotolo, 12 rounds For the US card HBO go on air at 2.30am (Boxnation televising here) with: Keith Thurman v Jan Zaveck, 12 rounds Tavoris Cloud v Bernard Hopkins, 12 rounds Before that HBO Latino will show Juan Carlos Salgado v Argenis Mendez II from 1.30am. Doubt Boxnation will have it as it's from a different venue. Also on tonight (but don't think it's on telly anywhere) - Ashley Sexton challenges for the Euro bantam title against Stephane Jamoye and unbeaten Italians Luca Giacon and Emiliano Marsili square off for the Euro lightweight title. Marsili came over and stopped Derry Matthews last year.
check in.. can't complain here, another boxing night:smoke:happy:bbb looking forward to Keith Thurman v Jan Zaveck/
Marsili and Giacon should be a really good fight. I made a really successful, popular thread about it in the reputable Euro forum.
I hope Barker looks good tonight. Really want to see him get himself back in the title mix. I personally feel that when he's on his A-game that he's the best of our UK middleweights. Murray is the toughest, Macklin is the most ferocious and Barker is the most skilful. Hope an impressive win tonight will put him back in contention and help him get some confidence because he really deserves it after the rotten run of luck he's had with injuries.
Cant watch any until tomorow. My predictions; Cloud UD Zavek Round 8 Clarke Round 4 Evangelou UD Purdy SD (maybe dodgy) Barker Round 7 Ochieng Round 7 Taylor UD
