Barker to camp in Tenerife

Barker sounded right keyed up for this fight. I think it's gonna be a foty candidate. People say he's chinny. He ain't having a bar of it.

 

Barker was poor in his last fight, but he is much better than that and I think this one is a genuine 50-50. It should be good tear up.

 

tough one to pick this, barker has the better skills but macklin can bang although barker has struggled and macklins looked great.

i think it will come down to macklin having the better sparring and roach.

barker to start off well, ahead on the cards but macklin to stop him late around the 8th or 9th.

 

Come to think of it, Macklin has probably sparred Craig McEwan in the Wildcard. I think that would stand to him. McEwan is stylistically similar to Barker. Tall, classical, upright, jabs a lot but not too much snap in his punches. Surely sparring him would be of great use for Macklin.

 

I don't see McEwan/Barker comparison at all.

Barker at his best i.e. not the Belgecham fight is just a classical orthodox fighter with a good jab/right hand.

McEwan is a southpaw, he throws a ton more unorthodox shots and tries to move his head and body a lot more.

They are similar though, although I retract that sparring him would serve Macklin well, with McEwan being a leftie. McEwan is a little more awkward, both use their jab to fight on the outside and it's their primary punch for stealing rounds.

 

Macklin will knock him out in first 6rounds in my opinion

 

Macklin takes this, Barker will start well but Mack will turn up the heat to finish it around the halfway point. Barker is very good technically but he won't be able to jab his way to victory over someone as strong and aggressive as Macklin.

 

Barker wins a very very wide UD. Macklins style is perfect for barker, dont be suprised if he puts him down a few times near the end. There will be 4,000+ up from london getting behind barker and chisora.

barker for me here as well,i really don't see the tools in macklin,he is very good,but barker is better in my opinion
