Is Proska the fella that the Poles are getting really high over?

I'm sickened Andy Lee isn't getting a chance to fight Barker (assuming he wins) but in fairness, Proksa is no chump and is a genuine challenger for the belt so credit to Barker for that. That fight should be very interesting and will give us a good indication as to how good Barker really is. The jury is still out on him in my eyes, I certainly don't rate him in the same way many others do.

It seems Barkers career is finally having some direction and purpose now. He seems to be showing a lot of ambition.

A decent meaningful fight for Barker and a definate step up in level. Long may it continue.

In fairness Slap, Proksa is as tough a fight right now as Andy Lee. Having said that, Lee makes way more sense from a financial perspective, so it is a strange choice of opponent.

Maybe you are right, Lee has beaten Barker already so maybe he sees Proksa as an easier fight, but Proska is no chump.

    Correct.

He is decent. They had been trying to get Duddy as far as i know.

As i have stated many times though, i feel barker is a bit special so for me he takes it.

Barkers come on miles since then. Cant see barker losing that one now but i ve been wrong before. Im sure barker would love the chance to avenge that so it will happen as long as they both keep winning.

Where is our resident andy lee fan when you need him (he always seems very knowledgable of the euro fighters).

I take back that comment. It was McEwan who Lee beat in the amateurs but I had it in my head it was Barker :nut. My apologies. I still think Lee would KO Barker. Hopefully it's a fight we'll see in the future.

Has Lee declared an interest in challenging for European titles?

He seems pretty content Stateside to me.

Here is what he said in a recent interview.

"I heard Darren Barker is fighting Belghecham for the European title, I think it's a bit of a joke, the guy that I just beat gets to fight for a vacant title. I think Barker will win by an easy points decision. Hopefully I can fight the winner but I'm not sure if Barker would fight me."
