Barker V Macklin. Who wins?

I think Barker would outbox him. Largely depends on his questionable chin though, to me he's shown he's more skilled and talented than Macklin even against lesser opposition. That's the problem, against lesser opposition you can't really learn about a guys toughness or how he reacts to bad situations.

 

Barkers world class, macklin wont make it at the very top.

Anyway I agree with you. It would be a semi decent spectacle with the fact that Macklin can dig and there will always be that danger but for me, he is a far better boxer.

I like Macklin but in my opinion but (as it is in Britain) a good win against Asikainen has seen his stock rise tenfold and people get carried away again

 

I was joking mate. This is one of the better sites to talk boxing online but its the same wherever you go, the london fans will say barkers the best and the irish/brummies will say macklins the best. Boxing skills , power, defence or whatever doesnt even come into the equation lol

 

Macklin with a close decision. I think people are underestimating his boxing skills.

 

Macklin's rep has gone through the roof after KO'ing Asikainen. Maybe we should stop and think about what took place that night. As good as the punch was from Macklin, Asikainen had no punch resistance. He'd probably seen better days, when he loses he tends to lose by KO even against average punchers like Gevor and Sylvester. I'm not discrediting Macklin entirely, it was an impressive victory but history probably suggests Macklin was made to look a lot more powerful than he actually is.

Gevor and Sylvester themselves are a huge step up from that.

 

i think Barker would cause Macklin allot of problems with his quick jab. take an early lead and keep it going as macklin will get desperate and that will play into Barkers hands.

I think Barker would take the decision but I am not over confident of the result. Great fight for us fans.
