I know it's a bit late, but....... Does anyone know how the judges had the fight before it was stopped?

I recall Barker being right in it up to the 5/6 round.

    I'd be interested to know.

    Thanks

I remember one of the judges had him incredibly about 8-9 rounds down the other 2 had it about 2-3.

Boxrec is good for this kind of stuff:

judge: Lynne Carter 96-94 | judge: Victor Loughlin 97-94 | judge: Alejandro Rochin Mapula 99-91

The 2nd judge is the most accurate, the 3rd judge is too wide.

in an ideal world it should be Macklin-Barker next.

I had Barker winning 2 or 3 rounds.

Barker won 2 rounds when he busted Martinezs nose. Just like Macklin he was losing rounds but people overrated it because he wasn't blown away inside 4 rounds. Martinez is a natural boxer and as soon as Barker moved away from a nip tuck fight and began to engage more he got sparked, just like Macklin.

Too many boxers going the distance. I would much prefer they go after Martinez, get stopped earlier but the reward of actually winning are significantly higher. Did former world champion and world class trainer McGirt honestly think that making Macklin box would lead to anything but a loss!
