Barker V Murray V Macklin

Did Lee gave any reason why he didn't want to fight Sturm or Pirog?

I know Pirogs not a big name but it is a chance to fight for a title and Sturm is probably the biggest payday outside of Martinez and Lee has a better chance of beating Sturm than Martinez IMO.

 

He said he didn't want to go to Russia/Germany because he wouldn't get a fair crack of the whip. This was quite some time ago, he appears to be very keen on going to Germany now.

 

I understand that it is hard to get the decision in Germany, dont know much about the scoring in Russia but I still feel he should have took the fight with either of the Pirog or Sturm.

I mean Macklin had a close fight against Sturm that could have gone either way, but seems that most people thought he won and this is what helped him get a fight with Martinez.

 

baker is the best technically but i think he would struggle with any decent operator after 6 rounds. his punches seem to lose pop and his workrate drops especially against pressure fighters.

i'd pick macklin to win over barker using the same tactics he did with sturm. might take him a few rounds to get that close to barker but should then dominate

I want to reserve judgement on murray first. thought he did really well against sturm given his experience. need a couple of more fights at least at euro level to see how good he can be.

 

Barker is the better boxer.
Macklin is the better brawler.
I too have to reserve judgement on Murray as he really impressed last time out and I have to wait and see how good he might be.
