I know this debate has been done to death, but i have to favour Lee. I think the belghecham fight will tell me a lot about barker.

Good to see Barker back in action against a decent opponent. Can't wait for it! He will be able to show us what he's got now.

I think he should beat Belghecham easily. Then maybe he can get some of the higher profile fights he needs.

Good he's in for a title but the opponent is borderline pathetic. Another non-puncher. Its not their fault if this is the guy that came up but I would like to see Barker in with a puncher soon. They seem to have nicely avoided anybody with a dig since Samuels.

seems like more and more of our fighters are picking up vacant belts rather than winning them off the titleholder.

not a great opponent, although if barker manages to win by a genuine (not early) stoppage, that would be quite impressive.

It should be Lee in the ring with Barker. The fact that the guy that Lee beat was deemed more deserving of a European shot speaks volumes of the corruption in the sport. It's a disgrace.

Lee has said he wants to fight Barker when he wins but is very doubtful Barker will be interested.

Any way, the fights made now so there's no point crying over spilled milk. Good luck to Barker. Belghecham is tough but very limited. He should take a comfortable points victory.

From Andy Lee via Johnny Stapleton "I heard Darren Barker is fighting Belghecham for the European title, I think it's a bit of a joke, the guy that I just beat gets to fight for a vacant title. I think Barker will win by an easy points decision. Hopefully I can fight the winner but I'm not sure if Barker would fight me."

Barker vs belghecham is a good measuring stick for barker but for the vacant EBU middle weight title? that for me stinks of **** and corruption....
I am looking forward to the fight although but only because i want to see if barker does a better job than lee against the frenchman.

    barker should win by stoppage

lee should have won by stoppage but seemed to want to get the rounds in

these vacant european title fights have been pathetic lateley with the likes of scott lawton , matthew hatton and now belghham all fighting in them , how do these boxers warant a shot when there is far better boxers in there divisions available to fight
