Barker's career has moved far too slowly since his comeback - apparently he admitted that McDermott was the first 'live' test of his career. For me thats just not good enough. I don't feel Hennessey has really brought him on all that well, sending him out to Canada for a meaningless non-title fight (no doubt to further his links In North America), was indicative of how Barker's career hasn't really been well planned. It seems to me his main purpose is to serve as an ideal sparring partner for Froch.
This fight is a pick 'em but i'm backing Barker to win on points. Should he emerge victorious, such is the paucity of the British middleweight scene, that I feel it would almost be pointless winning the Lonsdale belt outright, because he really woudn't be tested by the remainder of the top ten domestic middleweights, and it would be more time just treading water.

yeh he should 100% push on after winning the british. i think the euro belt is vacant at middle currently.
